I realize this almost certainly isn't an optimal build, but I was wondering if anyone thought it was doable at all -- a two-handed warrior who had points in str/dex/cun rather than str and con. They would wear rogue armor and focus on having high critical chance/damage and high defense.
Does this make any sense?

sounds interesting, I may have to try it but I don't see it being better. Wouldn't be able to wear champion armor and having a gimp hp pool and no real threat reduction like a rogue and being up in the enemy's face all the time would make flirting with death a problem. Also I think you would do less overall damage because a 2 hand warrior can put enough points in con for gear then throw everything else in str which affects their damage and attack scores. With your idea your running into dividing between three stats instead of two. So thinking about it more I don't think it will give you enough benefit. Sure you may crit a little more and a little harder but your base damage is going to be lower so those crits wont be as much. A +20% damage crit of say 100 damage versus a +50% damage crit of 80 damage ends up being 120 damage hit versus a 120. Those number are made up but probably gives you an idea what I mean. I don't think the crit gains would be enough to justify the loss of raw damage and hit points and armor.

I think you're right -- but I'm curious if it's even playable. I might try it just for fun at some point, because I like the idea of a two-hander wearing rogue armor. It's true that you would lose some raw damage and HP, but a higher defense and the +crit gains from both stats and being able to wear rogue armor might help with that. The loss of armor isn't so bad -- there seems to be less armor rating differences between the armor types in DA II than in DA I (for example, the warrior's Champion breastplate has 331 armor, while the Cuirass of the Winds -- the best rogue armor a dex/cun warrior would have access to -- has 306).
Edit: also, obviously this character would not be the tank, but an off-tank who runs around taking out weaker foes like a dual wield rogue. There would need to be a dedicated tank for actual treat management.

I was thinking the same thing, and made a thread about it last night, not sure how well it would go though.

The biggest problem I see with this is that SO much warrior damage comes from being a Reaver, and without the Con and Armor to take hits and dish damage back out your DPS will be gimped. Or from going Berserker and deriving damage from Stamina.
Warriors simply don't need crits to do damage, and benefit more from actually being hit than dodging blows. There also aren't enough Warrior abilities that supplement having a high crit. Rogues on the other hand have a slew of abilities centering around crits.
Not that you couldn't do it, on Normal or even Hard. But it probably wouldn't be fun.

I've just built a Sword & Shield Crit build and she's kicking butt. I think she's about lvl 7 and crit is up to 21% with control enabled. She's got some rogue armor on, a warrior's helm + boots etc. DPS is still lower than my 'sneaky' varric backup but she can take a lot more punishment. She doesn't have to hide and sneak around she just knocks enemies back/stuns them. I am going for the "destroyer" feat next which will make enemy crit resistance go to 50%. I'm leading w/str and keeping dex&cun a few points behind, then con a few points behind that. If anyone's curious I can give details tomorrow. Gotten to about 20 sovereigns on Hard with very few difficult battles.

What is there to be said? except that I wouldn't do it for RP reasons either. I think it could be quite a challenge, but you might end up getting your ass handed over on NM.
