YES
Well, not the whole DA2, but I would say that those two lines certainly outplay the DA2 final battle scene by a few hundred thousand miles.

And that line is not full of cliches, is it?Persephone wrote...
"Ten years, a hundred years from now someone like me will love someone like you and there will be no templars to tear them apart. May the Maker bring us victory or everything else is meaningless." > All the juvenile schmaltz & kitsch "romance" in DAO.

It's a matter of perspective. I liked both games. I loved hearing Morrigan admit that the Warden was her love after everything they'd been through, and seeing Loghain come to respect my Warden after spending a year trying to kill him. It was great to get Fenris to side with Hawke when he addressed the Circles as slavery, and seeing how the romance between my apostate Hawke and Merrill develop. "If you were Dalish, our people would have a kingdom by now... and half of Thedas would be attacking us, so maybe things worked out for the best."
I thought the ending was very interesting in DA2. The attack against the Chantry has caused a great deal of disagreement. I thought the dialogue with Anders at the end showed how conflicted and difficult the dicotomy between the mages and the templars is.

And I didn't dislike ALL the final pre-battle dialogue from DA2. I just expected a bit more, especially since the Denerim speeches made me tear up when I watched them. Gaider & Friends outdid themselves in DA:O and I came into that final scene with high expectations.
This is definitely NOT a DA2 SUX!! thread. I am firmly on the "DA2 is good, could be better but I enjoyed it anyway" side of the fence. (This fence is a complicated fence, ok.)

I should make it clear: I enjoyed DA2.

Poor you! It's quite tough on the forums at the moment, isn't it? I feel like I'm constantly having to clarify my position so people don't ... what's the delightful phrase ... tear me a new one?

Yes! Thank you! Its like Templars vs Mages minus cool armor/magic, which makes it an unrewarding spectacle. Can't a girl have an opinion that isn't confrontational but simply conversational?
(Rhyming unintentional).

Yeah, that was hot. I try not to factor Fenris into my judgment of anything because his hotness impedes my ability to judge fairly.
Rivalmance Fenris: Reduces my brain to a pile of dumb giggly mush.

Indeed. I don't think I've ever used brackets so much in all my life as in the past couple of weeks: 'I didn't like this about DA2 (still loved it though!), whereas I loved this (still didn't think the game was perfect!)' Yikes.
Can't think alike, not all the time
A different mind is not a crime!
My rhyme, appalling though it may have been, was intentional.

Yeah, I've been looking around and it seems like if you push the wrong button a horde of angry comments will flood in "Fanboi!Fangirl!" "Console-user!" ""Hater!" etc.
I am an extreme pacifist, and these angry threads make me nervous. Makes me want to scream "Everyone calm down and get naked!"
There is no logic to this inclination. Like the Ogre S & M underwear.
