then you can read the last one to finish the quest and get the bonus attributes. or destroy it..whatever
but if you're going to read one for the bonus points you have to wait till the last one or it's not able to be completed.
love rushed games yah? there's several quests that are stupid bugged.

Hybris is the end boss of an entirely different sidequest. The end boss of Forbidden Knowledge is a desire demon named Xebenkeck.p95h wrote...
Not true. I think you are allowed to miss one. I read the first one in the chantry and still fought Hybris (The ancient pride demon) in darktown. Which one you miss depends on where you look I suppose.

Doesnt seem bugged to me. The quest is, "Destroy all of Tarohne's tomes" so if you read/take any tome before the last, you dont destroy them and you cant finish the quest to destroy them all.
Not quite. If you read one, it gets destroyed after u read it, so technically, u destroyed it.

Yes, but it still kinda sucks, that you don't know that beforehand and you have to admit that it is kind of silly, that you can actually read the last book and still finish the quest...Casuist wrote...
... which doesn't really change the point that, in all likelihood, this quest is behaving exactly as it should. If you want to get the final book and fight there's no naughty readings.

No, it's a bug. There's no justification for leaving it in the quest log whatsoever. If you fail a quest, it should be removed. So one way or another, something went wrong somewhere.

Not leaving the quest log is probably a bug but the idea that you don't get the last fight fight with the demon if you give in to temptation and read them or sell them is probably working as intended.

If you read the text, it will say it will pass its knowledge onto you and in exchange you leave it alone. So, no you do not destroy it if you read it.
Only one you may read without causing the quest to be incompletable is the last one.

No. You cannot take them. The quest will ONLY complete if you destroy all of them, except for the Fell Grimoire, which you may read.
Good to know. I wasn't able to complete the quest last time so I will be more careful this time through. Thanks.
