Between like 4 skills as the warrior class, and maybe some from the mage class, it seems that it's pretty possible to get 100% magic resistance.  Does this mean you take 0 damage from magic attacks?  I'm at the point where the only thing that stops me are assassins and mages, so I've been beefing up magic resistance and putting some points in Templar tree.

i believe you will obtain glancing blows still, similar to having 100% resist of en elemant... the blows become minor (except vs the rock wraits freakish area of effect attack)

the max might be 80%... between 10% passive, 50% templar and the forgotten kings armor, you'll be at 70%, which is more than enough

Towards the end I used runes and got 95% fire and frost resistance.

100% resistance i know is obtainable (you need 120% resists for bosses)

yes, but only vs normal enemies- magic resistance vs elites and bosses drops considerably like everything else

So yea, nothing as cool as being a monk-sahdow assassin in nwn or plain old monk in BG2 :(

I don't think Magic Resistacne works.  On my mage with around 70%+ I didn't see any difference when taking magical attacks.  On the other hand runes seem to dominate elemental resistance.

Is it an elite or boss that is casting? As I stated above, resistances drop drastically vs these mobs.

On a side not, maybe it wa me that was bugged, but i could never figure out how i took continual damage from a Rage Demon's backstab attack when I had 700+ fire resistance.

Well like the qunari mages, blood mages, or Arcane Horror spells just destroy anythign in their path.  I had no reduced effects from them.

Ok quick question, what's the difference between magic resistance and element resistance? Do they stack on top of each other? I figured that if you had the 50% MR passive, and then elemental aegis which is like 40% resistance to say, fire. Would that stack for 90% resistance against magical fire attacks?

EDIT: i checked the manual and magic resistance does stack with elemental.  I should have checked in their first XD sorry

Hi, just checked that, but Haste is not working on my Warrior.

About the 79% dmg resi: Helm of a Thousand Battles (14%) + The Belt of Promise (10%) + King Something the Forgottoen's Armor (20%) + The Fallen Star (7%) + Shield Defense (25%) + Battle Synergy (8%) + Adamant (5%) + Sebastian (5%) = 94% resist.

BUT I'm Sebastian bugged -___-

wasn't there a savegame fix somewhere? :S

Edit: Fixed it! ( I was 5times Isabella Bugged... great :D)

The size of healthbar = = elite or boss mob.

I haven't Seen a Saarebas that didn't have a huge healthbar, and only seen very few Qunari who would be classed as "normal" enemies.  Sten class Quanri, for example, is a Boss.

It is possible to get 100% magic resistance, I got it on a warrior. BTW, if your magic resistance adds up to over 100%, it will be capped and stay at 100.

Is it possible to get 100% damage resistance?

Blood magic ignores resistances.

remember, 100% resistance is not immunity.
