first let me say that overall I like DA2. it's far from perfect, but it's a well-written fun game with most of the great things we've come to expect from BioWare
there's a lot of flaws, most of them minor annoyances but there's a few bigger problems I feel the need to complain about

timeskips: for the most part they work well, but I still can't help feeling that we miss too much of Hawkes story which is just brushed over in the narration. for example when first arriving in Kirkwall and chosing which job to take, we get one pathetically short and easy quest and the entirety of the rest of the year of service is just skipped over. it would have been nice to play at least a couple of jobs from those. there's other instances further in as well, but I won't give more examples as they'd risk being spoilerish

replayability: one of the things I absolutely love about Origins is how replayable it is. as well as the six different origins you've also got a lot of decisions made during the game which have an impact on later events. granted a lot of these the impact is just a few lines in the epilogue, but it's still a noticable impact that you have had on the game world. not only does DA2 lack a lot of choices, many of those it does have make absolutely no difference to the game at all. side with NPC A over NPC B and it will still play out exactly the same as it would if you'd sided with B over A. Even the big choice towards the ending makes no real difference at all
I really want to play DA2 again and again, but it's hard to find the motivation to do it when only a few bits of dialogue are any different

spoilers in quest titles: this one is really annoying and I have no idea how anyone could even think it was a good idea. for example there's one quest titled Tranquility which involves trying to rescue a mage... are we really supposed to be surprised when it turns out that mage has been made Tranquil? it would have been nice to be surprised, but the quests title makes it glaringly obvious. and this is just one of many examples. it really takes away a lot of the potential impact of events when you know what's going to happen in advance

and of course last but not least, the current lack of a ToolSet or update to the existing ToolSet
