Did you get to use poison atall?
Was the game all you hoped it would be?
Did it live up to the name of Baldur's gate?
I kno u didn't see the story much, but do u think it has potential to be as epic as we all hope?
Only seven more days!!!

I´m kinda worried about the mentioned bugs.. heard about this in another review already.. you should think they could have done at least a better QA, when the game is hold back for half a year..

One short question, how many percent of the game did you actually see, what's your guess? I've read something about some team saying they explored just 16% of the game, but that seemed unbelievable to me...
Hungary was the winning team with 24 hours of game play under their belt, and they only got through 16% of the game. What you heard was correct.
Edit: I felt the need to say "And they rushed".

I did have one question though. I know you stated your likely party when you pick up the game. I just wanted to know did you have every character by the end of the game? If you didn't then who did you leave out? Did you keep that party because you were familiar with those characters or where they just that much better than the others? How would you rank the NPC's?
Thank You

In many games, I find that shapeshifters and animals get outclassed later in the game, as everyone else starts equipping the "+10 armor of uberness" and "+15 sword of pwnage" etc
Were most fights against large groups, or were they roughly 4x4 style fights?
It's disappointing to hear about archery being weak, I found the same in DA:Journeys and was hoping it was just an anomaly in that game.

I mean, take Wynne for example - how many mana points did she have at, say, level 5/7/10? (Or, alternatively, how many mana points do you gain per 1 willpower point?)
Is the max amount of mana influenced only by willpower, or are there other things that raise it?
Is it common that mages will run out of mana with just a few spells (say, 2 damage spells, 1 heal, 1 buff), or is it possible to keep the mage casting throughout the battles? (Especially during boss batles - I mean, what good is a healer if he has to scrap any mana points just to afford a heal and some damage)
So.. Yeah. In short, I'd like to know if a mage in DA:O, especially a elementalist mage, will be just a big blast in the beginning and then die/do pitiful staff attacks all the remaining 5 minutes, or will he be able to upkeep a decent attack rate?

@ X2-Elijah,
I believe some of the answers to the second part of your questions can be found in these two quotes:

While I understand this question is more situation in terms of an answer, I was wonder what was more effective overall use of mana, damage or healing?
It entirely depends on the situation, really. Often, you can have Wynne or someone fling a few damage spells like Lightning or some such, and have plenty left over for emergency healing incase you need it. I think when it comes to bosses though, unless you have mana potions, it might be good to save some mana incase you suddenly need to Revive, or do a group heal.
Obviously, having two mages in attack and healing really helps lighten the load on each other.

thanks for the reply payne, as mages seem limited in skills its kind of hard to decide whats worth it - for example training seems good but if you do a good job with tanks it shouldn't be needed!
onto my next question, there is no mana regen in combat right and is going group heal economical? for example instead of going 1 slot into heal tree to get heal going instead 1 slot into the spirit healer tree? did you feel it's worth it? i'm mainly thinking on my main where i'd be the only caster and if mana doesn't regen in combat it'd seem like running out of mana during combat would be extremely common (especially if you heal), for example - not sure how accurate this is but in DAJ the group heal cost 75 mana while normal was only 25 and the healer could only group heal twice before running out of mana.
I'm not sure of the exact costs, but the Group Heal is a few times more mana-costly than the regular Heal. It's just extremely useful incase suddenly, your entire party is damaged and put into a spot where perhaps two characters may die, you can heal those both enough to stop the death, instead of healing one and having the other die. Also, you're actually going to have to learn the Spirit Healer specialization before you can get Group Heal, which I theorize is being such good friends with Wynne that she teaches it to you. Seeing as she is one, after all.

At any rate, I was wondering the following:
Did you get to play with both a Mage and Archer character, and which did you prefer?
Also... I did not actually see the Warden's Quest, sadly, so I was wondering how you guys played it. Did you take turns on who controlled the game? Did you all play on seperate PC's?
Thanks.

1. Did the king just look really, really drunk and stoned or was he going around like that all the time, or sitting on his throne? Was he awake for the full duration?
It is of outmost importance that I know this!

I noticed in this thread, it links to a review where the main character was an archer. In this review I didn't notice any negative comments about the archery specialization, and it even goes into some detail about using the different shots. It looks like archery may be fine in DA:O, consider my marksman pleased!

I forgot one more major question: With Leliana, could she use Rogue specific talents (dirty fighting, below the belt, deadly strike) with her bow and arrow? Did she ever apply archery backstab damage? Were bard songs noticeably beneficial enough to justify removing her from combat?
Chris had said that the activated rogue talents are melee only (still up in the air on passives like Lethality... I assume it works.)
I've seen the script that does backstabs.. melee only. Archery can do crits though.

i jus have a couple:
At what percent complete were you when you got eliminated and how many hours were spent actually in front of your computer screen at that time?
How big was the world in DA:O and how much of it could be explored freely?
What, in your opinion, was the most engaging factor about the gameplay?
And lastly I have already reserved my copy of DA:O on the 360 and cannot wait to pick it up and start playing! From what you heard and saw from other gamers who went into elimination or just dabbled with the console, do you think this is a game that should be purchased for PC in order to really squeeze everything you can from the experience?
Thanks for taking the time and congrats again!

And after WardensQuest, they said that it was only 16% of game that players explored but teams had their characters on lvl 10.
So from rest of 84% you can get only 10-12 new lvls because you will finish game?
hm i was thinking since 16%=8-10lvs,then you should probably lvl up till 30?

Most systems have an exponential curve of the amount of experiance needed to level, and while the amount of experiance given may increase over time it's not going to increase as fast as the requirement.
The upshot is that the early levels come really fast and then start slowing down considerably.

Also, looking at the video clips, it seems the challenges were very close, with only a few points separating each team. Was this true?

My question: did anyone write down all 8 skills on the Dog Chain? I'm really curious about the other ones. So far I've got Howl, Growl, Dread Howl... did anyone write down the rest?
