The Dragon Age Wikia says Leliana said she was tracking him/her down. My Warden was dead, so I never got such dialogue. Does such dialogue occur if The Warden is alive?

It is implied that Leliana and the Seekers were looking for both The Champion and The Warden

If the Warden lives, they apparently disappear some time after the events of Act 3 (upper limit) or any time before (I presume Witch Hunt is the lower limit). So yes, Leliana is looking for them.

The reference basically goes:

Leliana: "Did you.."
Cassandra: "Gone, just like the warden."
Leliana: "That is no coincidence."

Don't remember the actual words off the top of my head but it's something like that.

Hmmm. So it's true then. That's interesting. I suppose that's why some people think The Warden returns in DA3 in some form.

Both of them disappearing doesn't necessarily mean you'll see them again, literally it sort of means the opposite.

It'd be interesting if DA3 PC focused on finding the Warden and Hawke.

If DA3 becomes a case of "I'm sorry, but the Warden is in another castle." I will slap the writers.

I'm hoping to see the Warden again, but I would imagine implementing them as an NPC is very tricky.

No matter how they did it, the ****ing would be endless.

As I've said previously, my fav DAO ending is the ultimate sacrifice, so poingant I thought, and that Morrigan conceives anyways just sans olg god soul, that was a nice touch.

However..... I've also said how much I really disliked Witch Hunt, playing with a Warden who did the dark ritual... and also what an epic storyline I think there could be involving the warden now a grizzled veteran preparing for his calling that gets entangled with Morrigan once again. I would love to see an epic game with that as the focus. Of course I also realize how unlikely that is to happen given all the variables in DAO and how much Bioware would have to retcon to force that to work, but c'est la vie.

Also, still like my warden a lot more than Hawke, but as above, c'est la vie.

Perhaps not see them again, but there must be something about this in the next Dragon Age, even if it is small. I don't get what would be the point of having "this is no coincidence" at the end otherwise.

Keeping people interested.
Pretending to care about what the people who were upset over DA2 dropping the Warden think.

Possibly, which is why I said "even if it is small", which it probably will be. Most likely you come across Flemeth and notice a couple of corpses, which don't even resemble your characters, and she will say "oh, thats Hawke and thats the Warden". Story done.

My great question is... One of my characters took the first class ticket to another time another place leaving a couple nice guys, a dog and a big ass book behind.

How could the seekers NOT find them, damn it!?

I lol'd. Bioware need you as their writer for DA3. I could imagine this scene as your new character looks over at their corpses with no detail whatsoever. Then the game ends as Thedas is destroyed by Reapers.

Lol, well my Warden is dead so finding him in Weisshaupt can't be all that hard. Dead guys don't have very active social lives.

My Warden survived and married Alistair, so when I met him in the keep he said something about going home to the old ball and chain -- the same one who killed an Archdemon.

If the Warden disappeared it was after that and before Varric's interrogation. She was obviously already taking care of business or smelled trouble and decided to lay low till she figured out what the Chantry was up to.

Combining both characters would be super easy and super awesome for DA:3. They could have separate stories taken in chapters. <3 awesome <3

I took that scene to mean that they were looking for established heroes to help them end the mage-templar war. After it is mentioned that they are both "gone", Cassandra asks if they should keep looking or go on to plan "B".

The response was 'It is in the Maker's hands".

SO my take, the warden and Hawk have gone for all intents and purposes. Hawke had to flee for is life, and the Warden is gone for what ever reason (his calling, ran off with Morrigan, got tired of Sister Stabbity and ran away, Hunting Cookies with Sten, etc.) They will not be a part of the next game as it will have a new hero rise to the call.
