Because she was like that when we met. I can't really say if she was straight her personality would be different. She's quite normal , not like Anders or Isabella come acorss in DA2.
I'd probably find those personalities insulting if I were bisexual myself.

Too late. I'm sure it is already being quoted into some abomination of a post explaining how I'm a downright terrible person who is drinking fresh blood for the skull of a baby while I'm sitting on a pile of money made by the oppression of sometbody or another.
You want gay LIs? Go ahead and argue for them, but don't expect me to support you, don't try to play the guilt card, and don't expect me to shut up if it begins to hurt the quality of the game for others. Also when is this office-place politically correct mentality going to end? Does Bioware require one person of every race and sexual orientation now? Does DA3 need transvestite LIs? If by not including (insert demand here) are they doing something horribly offensive to somebody? At this stage they would be better off by not including any romances to begin with.
Enough with your slippery slopes. It is fine as it is now, and you have yet to come up with a single valid argument as to why it is not aside from your obvious self-entitlement issues and useless "where will it end!" fallacies.

Hey, guess what? There were gay knights. There were gay Samurai. There were gay Spartans.
I'm glad BioWare is not limited by your personal lack of imagination or ignorance of history.
So Japan... is it near Europe? Or... maybe when we talk about knights we mean samurai? Or maybe... just imagine this... when we say medieval we mean europe (western) from the end of Roman Empire to the time of Renaissance? You see what I mean? There is no samurais here, there is no spartans.
But ok, even if we are not talking about time and western mythology (there is no elves and dwarvs in Japan mythology). Knight is a warrior of Godб he follows bible, and samurai is warrior who follows bushido. It is quite different. If you are Knight you cant be gay.

Exactly. The truth of the matter is certain people don't want to accept that bisexual and gay people are just like everyone else.
That's not political correctness. I'm about as PC as nuclear powered aerosol. It is a statement of fact.
This entire thing is political correctness taken to insane levels. Gaider's statement is nothing but political correct mumbo-jumbo. "Oh your the majority so you owe them this and feel guility about it."

Seriously though, David Gaider has no clue. He says that romances are for everyone - and that's not true. It's simple as that. If you are a straight man, you do not have any straight romances in the ENTIRE game as everyone is bisexual.
So basically, David says that the romances are for everyone...but for straight people.
Eloquent, eh?
Hypocrite.

Oh please. Your entire argument is based around the idea that gay players are "entitled" to this content which is absolute BS. Just because you think it is fine now, doesn't mean it is so.

I agree with Mister Gaider. He's right that it comes down to people feeling privileged and thinking they have the right to dictate who gets what when they shouldn't.
Calamity Ranger, Isabela's romance is very satisfying and her sleeping with many people is a front as you find out towards the end of the game. She's bisexual she never hid it in DA:O and she doesn't hide it in DA2. But she uses that as a shield to keep herself from falling in love, from getting hurt. It's a well written story for Isabela's romance.
Merrill's story is also well crafted when you play through for her romance.
Another thing is that gay, lesbians and bisexuals have been around since even ancient days. They just hid it better and those that couldn't stomach marrying the opposite gender found a way around it and didn't get married. Some women lived with another woman in a house being spinsters. Men of the gay orientation married, had sex with their spouses to produce heirs because it was expected of them. But more often than not they didn't sleep with their wives beyond that. They had personal male lovers that they spent time with. Only being with the family when it was necessary for appearance purposes.
So anyone who states that there were no homosexuals or bisexuals or anything in between back in ancient history is out of their minds and are ignorant of the past.
Well said Heather Cline!

I have to disagree with the complaint of making all LI's bi though. Sure, it seems a little unrealistic from our point of view, but there are reasons for that which apply in our world and do not apply in the Dragon Age world.
Firstly, we're all pretty much nobodies. Ok, some of us might be important in some little way, some of us might even be important in some big way, but none of us are mythic heroes of legend and wonder. Irrelevant to the issue? Nope. Hawke is, in theory, a one in a billion person, the type of person who can turn a person's head. Personally, I'm a straight male, but I can conceive of falling for another guy if they were the type of person that Hawke is supposed to be. Sure, you could argue that this makes me bi, but not in any meaningful sense, the chances are that I'm never going to meet such a guy, I'd say somewhere in the region of .01% but it is still a possibility.
Secondly, we live in a world which has been run almost entirely by patriarchal religions, which have a habit of being a little squeamish about sexuality in general and homosexuality in particular, for a couple of thousand years, the same is not true of Thedas. There is the chantry, true, but they are a matriarchal religion, except in Tevinter, and have their own pet prejudices against magic and elves.
Third, it's a ****ing game. SERIOUSLY.
Fourth, if it really makes you feel icky, you can just avoid flirting with those characters your character shares a genital design with and pretend that the option isn't there - we used to use a similar tactic in p&p games called "imagination."
I also have to disagree with what seems to be Bastal's major point. As may not be obvious from my avatar, I am a straight male gamer, yet I do not feel that I have been neglected at all.
It's fair enough to be upset about getting the same treatment as everyone else (an outrage, it's quite true) but I think I speak for everyone when I say that I really wish people wouldn't pretend to speak for me while they're really only speaking for themselves.

NPCs will only want in your pants (well Fen and Merrill) if you initate it.
Izzy just wants to have fun. And Anders is a clingy jealous and possive male.
4 people to me isn't that big a deal seeing as how in Origins you could sleep with 4 different people easily. (And hell 4 at thesame time if you played your cards right).
