This may come as a shock, but I don't even WANT auto-attack. it was one thing I really hated about the PS3 version of DA:O. I can understand wanting it for the PC version, but I don't want Auto-attack to be honest.

Well, then don't use it, once they finally fix that.  It was supposed to a toggle in the options on consoles.  Apparently, that's the part they left out: the actual ability to turn it on.

Rofl, okay. there was no togle option in DA:O, so I was assuming it was always on like it waas in that game

In addition to the shoddy way the game was released there is also the fact that no one from bioware is even telling us what bugs are being fixed...maybe if they communicated a little bit more it might help with understanding why a patch is taking so long to come out...then again bioware has our money so they figure f*&^ it, why rush, only people we have yet to suck 60.00 out of are important...

While I think you're being quite harsh, it's hard not to agree with your sentiments alittle.

Like I mentioned before, most major developers release hotfixes for big and easily fixed bugs very swiftly, and like you say very many also release fix lists that they are working towards for a patch.

Unfortunately considering that there are still many many bugs unpatched in Dragon Age: Origins including completely broken quests it doesn't bode well for Dragon Age 2's support.

It might be easy to get annoyed or even outright angry at things like this, but I think it's much better to simply appreciate the game for what it is, enjoy the successes that BioWare has made with it and try to ignore what one feels are the negatives.

Then when/if the patches do come out it will be a pleasant surprise =]

What Bug is there cause i just spent the last 10 days playing a new warrior on Origins and then Awakening to start new game on DA2 with a save. I am on the PS3.

Dont really know if I want to get KOTOR Online now if this is the lack of information and knowledge that we will get with the game.  I thought for sure we would see some fixes soon and thats why i played origins and awakening for the last 10 days.

Dont know, almost seems like they hardly tested this game before they put it out :/

to be honest, I think people are getting a little impatient and spoiled. they want things NOW! What? 17 days and still no patch?!

It would be nice if they just tested their game for a couple more months before they released it. i don't think it is impatient at all for people to want stuff fixed. The game shouldn't have so many bugs in the first place.

Where is AUTO-ATTACK  for consoles?
Friendship bugs?

The import system doesn't recognize many of your choices in DA:O, DA:A and DA:O's DLC.

For instance it's been reported Alistair is king in DA2 even if you had him executed in DA:O, it doesn't matter who you romanced in DA:O because the import system doesn't recognize it anyway, some people say Vigil's Keep is counted as destroyed by the import system if you chose to save Amaranthine even if it was fully upgraded and thus survived in your DA:O save (that makes the Finding Nathaniel quest unavailable in DA2 supposedly).

I've read about many many other things not being recognized and counted from imported saves as well, you can read some more about DA2 bugs here http://dragonage.wik...ge_2_known_bugs

At this point especially with the import system it's almost hard to tell if they're actually bugs with the function itself, or if BioWare just made a conscious decision to ignore what you did in DA:O even if you import a save, things like Leliana surviving no matter what and appearing in DA2, likewise with Zevran and other things seem to point towards this.

Some would probably make the point that this is BioWare simply forcing their canon of DA2 no matter what and eliminating even more player choices, but I don't think that is necessarily true, I think it's just as likely that the import system is bugged so badly that all these incosistencies we've been seeing and blaming on continuity (the ending of DA2, characters appearing that shouldn't because of DA:O actions, quests missing, etc) are actually introduced by the import bugs instead.

It's an interesting thought =]

Does the highres textures pack count as a pc  patch?

I'm a bit confused hence the available patch version
in the game patches section  is 1.01,
not 1.012 or 1.02

They count it as a patch, though why that didn't just ship with the game like it should have is rather odd.

I have an XBOX 360 (Slim). I paid good money to pre-order the game. I do not think it is too much to expect MAIN COMPANION QUESTS THAT DO NOT FINISH, as well as AUTOATTACK THAT WAS *MEANT* TO BE IN THE GAME to be patched.

Which companion quest did not finish for you?  I completed them all on my 360.

Dear Mr. Priestly,

The console version has not been patched at all. Rubbing it in people's faces that the PC versin has been patched (and only once BTW, not twice) is pretty rude. I'm sorry that you feel like it's ok to further alienate and divide your fanbase.

Oh yeah ... where is the AUTO-ATTCK for consoles.
Friendship bugs ... when will they be fixed?

To those of you telling people to be patient and that QA takes alot of time.

Please consider that most major game companies release hotfixes, on the very first or second day after release for the most troubling or gamebreaking issues.

That's what annoys people the most I think, there are so many gamebreaking issues that are easily fixed, but they're not even bothering to release a quick hotfix for them.

Yes, I agree, but not as of late, look at Black Ops PC version. It was totally, like 100% unplayable for long time on PCs. Might be due to high technology involved or whatever it is. Now that they took their sweet time, It has fixed all the bugs and can played at any settings.

Some of you guys act like this is the buggiest game to ever hit store shelves. You obviously did not play Fallout: New Vegas, that game was a MESS.

DA2 has some bugs, some pretty nasty ones (Friendship bugs make your player character useless) and others that are fairly benign.

But still, having them fixed in a relatively timely manner would be nice, as I'm not going to be playing this forever.

God trying to play FO:NV without hitting a bug was like trying to walk over the Korean DMZ without steping on a mine, then again Obsideans testers might just be a bunch of monkeys.

Very well said. The condescending tone that Bioware has taken towards us is beyond insulting. We aren't just "readers" or "fans." We are paying customers. When we buy a video game AT FULL PRICE ON RELEASE DAY, we rightfully expect (by industry standards) either a reasonably working game OR at the very least swift and friendly bug patches. I'm not sure why Bioware has lost its way so badly.

By the way, the Isabella and Merill quests were bugged for me. Isabella's "Questioning Beliefs" showed up in Act 2, saying that she wanted to meet me in the Hanged Man. Then she was never there, though that Quest still showed for the rest of Act 2. Merrill's quest was bugged, in that there was no reaction after her main quest completed. Instead, the reaction was oddly at the beginning of the Act, in something that was WORSE than nonsense, since it spoiled what would happen.

New Vegas got a patch pretty quick, didnt fix much bugs but it helped. It would be nice if bioware did a patch for glitches and bugs they know about and can fix. Later make another patch/update for more complicated bugs and more bugs found later on. This is better than compiling a list and fixing it wholesale 2 months after the fact.

just wanted to add that 17 days really isnt that long...this thread would be more concerning if it was over a month from now.

Which bugs then, are minor glitches, and which are more complex?  Is the Isabela-Sebastian bug a minor glitch that's easy to fix? Or is it something complex that takes time? I could imagine that a spell not doing the correct damage might be an easy thing to fix, if it's just a number that's wrong. Should that take priority because it's simple, when it's something that really doesn't prevent the game from being played?

those are all good questions.  I think a patch that can fix minor bugs that is relatively easy to fix should be pushed out soon while some of the more complicated ones they should take their time to fix right the first time around.  Unfortunately the more complicated bugs are the ones that are the most glaring and people would be upset if a patch didnt fix those.  If thats the case, bioware should also post that they are addressing bugs while sending out a first patch.  But I couldnt tell you which ones are complicated and which ones are simple....

In fairness patches for the consoles have to be passed by their respective companies before release. Where as PC patches can be released as soon as they are ready. So in this regards it is not Bioware's fault if there have been no patches for consoles as of yet.

No need to feel insulted though, as the patches not even scratched at correcting what is wrong with the game.
Also, if you feel the need to wee at someone's leg, do so with the guys who created your console, they are among the reason why it takes so long to patch this game.

No offense meant by the way.

That assumes that they've submitted a/the patch to MSFT/Sony for qualification.

When we update our iphone app, we know it'll take Apple 2-14 days to approve it before it's avail in the AppStore. On submit, we're able to let our customers know that we've submitted the app & are awaiting approval, and, what's in the update.

We've received no such info from Bioware/EA; neither what's in the update (other than "many fixes") nor whether it's been submitted for approval (or anything else approximating a timeline).
