But don't spam our forums with your 'reasonable' requests to limit options for other players because it makes you 'uncomfortable'. BioWare was smart to err on the side of choice, and if the company loses a few twerps who can't deal with it along the way, well I'd call that a win-win.

Some people overthink this whole issue far too much.

It's really quite simple: by implementing romances in this way, BW have ensured that the maximum amount of content is available to the maximum amount of people for relatively little cost (since, like it or not, cost is a factor). Straight Hawkes have a choice of who to romance (as they did in DAO). Gay Hawkes have a choice of who to romance (this has never happened before). Bisexual Hawkes have a choice of who to romance (as they did in DAO). Pretty awesome, right?

Now every player and every Hawke has a choice. It's such a shame that there are some people out there who don't believe everyone deserves a choice.

You don't want to give choise for those who don't want gays bouncing them on games.

That said, there are obvious parallels between the Chantry and the Catholic Church, even if the writers don't want to admit it.  

This is why it's obvious Sebastian wouldn't be gay.

It is not that Sebastian is straight because of religion. That is, the person isn't straight because of his beliefs.

It is that Bioware did not put in a gay character related to the Church. That would be a rather uncomfortable reference when people drew parallels between the Chantry and the Church.

This is misleading. I'm pretty sure that Anders does not actually slap us in the face with his gayness. IIRC, he doesn't even come on that strong.

IIRC, if you're nice and understanding with him (my first playthrough), during the initial conversation, he provokes the flirt/flirt/reject wheel by pretty much saying how you're so wonderful and understanding, and then asks if he's making you uncomfortable. It actually reminded me of two close friends talking about personal issues.

As sarcastic Hawke (every subsequent playthrough because Sarcastic Hawke is awesome) nothing so intimate ever shows up.

It is you who have touted a lot about gay characters in games. It is special for you, not for me. There is nothing special for me in it.

That's why I wrote too I see no reason why gays should have some kind of privilege.

The thing is that if you want gay books, movies, or games, you just begin to do them. That is what heteros do anyway.

I have no problem with you quoting whats relevant to you.

But how hard would it have been to have the player have the choice to iniate the conversation then ask Anders if it makes him feel uncomfortable. the player then at least has the choice to click the heart and start on the romance or not click it and safe from feeling discomfort? I personally dont like seeing it in real life when its aimed at me directly last thing I want is to be faced with the situation in a game with no chance of avoiding the conversation.
The romance could have easily been designed where it causes minimum offence/discomfort/hatred etc etc

You really do not understand.
It is normal for people of either gender or sexuality to flirt with anyone. If you did not like it, say no to Anders and it will end at that. People will get hurt if rejected. Anders is needy and desperate for appreciation.

Just say no and be happy.

EDIT: For some reason I am not surprised you missed the sarcasm in my last post.

I would complain about them jumping on my male character if the thread was about DA2 writer blasts hetrosexual Fan!!

But for the record I disaprove of Isabella throwing herself at my character but thats just me and my old school values on relationship issues.

It is normal for people of either gender or sexuality to flirt with anyone. If you did not like it, say no to Anders and it will end at that. People will get hurt if rejected. Anders is needy and desperate for appreciation.

I have not been offended by Anders. He is my favorit char in DA2 and much better than in Awakening. I have also written a long time ago I was not offended by Zevran but rather appreciated it how gentlemanny manner he did his advance on me.

So what you are talking about again and what I don't understand?
