If that is where your beliefs are from, then honey, you should consider getting in touch with the modern times.
You also said that religion is an obsolete philosophy, which has no basis for existing in modern times.
Difference is (I) for one am okay with you being able to believe as you want in your video game. Just as long as it doesn't impend my game. Hawke wants to be religious? Let it be player choice.
Player wants said religious views to influence the game and take away opions like bi romance options? They can go kick rocks.

Can you please stop ad hominem attacks and focus on what the person has asked.
The OP asked for hetero romance. Why you begun to attack him?

Both of those statement are wrong.
Out of context for me. If you are preaching about how hating or 'fixing' people who are gay is okay, then yes, you should renew your beliefs. Why should Dragon Age 2 cater to that?
Christianity, religion, can co-exist with all sexualities. Just let it happen.

1) Regardless of what is acceptable and what isn't, you can engage in it just the same in DA.
2) My opinion on religion has not been stated and is irrelevant to this discussion. What I and others have said is values rooted in the 19th century are obsolete because, you know, they're from the 19th century and are no longer valid due to evolving society. This would include homosexuality as sin, intolerance of non-believers and women being subjigated by men.

Why do you insist on bringing bible in this? Seriously, its got nothing to do with the conversation we are having.

Sure is a whole lot of blasting going on here.

I aks why you gay and bi people have to attack very aggressively on heteros who has done nothing to you. You have done it to me, you did it to OP here, and I have seen you doing it to other people too.

The OP asked for hetero romance. Why you begun to attack him?
Because the OP has "done" something to us. What the OP is asking for is to strip away the choices the gay community now have, and justifying it by saying that, since we're the minority, we don't matter.

That is not the case at all, you're not helping anyone by strawmanning the situation.

Maybe the real question is, do the controversial homosexual nuances make the game any more or less enjoyable?
For me, they don't make the game any better and it wouldn't suffer if they weren't there. Feel free to take that statement at face value or twist it any way you want.

And you know what's even more unsettling? The first line in the thread read "The romances in Dragon Age 2 are for everyone, says the games lead writer, not just for the straight, male gamer." Well, Mr. Gaider...what better way to make your point then to ...well...."blast" the said fan.
yeah, I'll leave now.

People who like talking about the bible will shoe horn it into any conversation. It' gets better when they start telling you about the "proof of Noah's Arc" and how "much of what the bible predicted has already come to pass!"

Obsolete dogma? Typical. It all boils down to "my morality is better than your morality" which is nonsense. Your the one who is unwilling to compromise, not I.

You are just arguing for the sake of arguing.
Or are you stating that values from the 19th century are equally valid today?

"What I think what BW has done is totally dumb. They should have introduced some characters as straight, some as bi and some as gay. It is more realistic than turning all the romance-companions into bi characters"
Not the same thing really.

Actually, all of those information is explicitly stated in DA:O lore if you would just look it up. Also if you had romanced Zevran back in the day he too would have commented on the varying DA worldviews on this particular issue.Hatchetman77 wrote...
I think some insight into sexuality and culture in this world is necessary. My issues isn't homophobia, it's just having every romancable character to be bisexual is just lazy, especially when we see 99% of the NPC in male/female relationships and we don't se homosexuality in everyday life in this world. Is homosexuality accepted in this culture, tolerated but frowned upon, and how does this relate across cultures? Do dwarves have the same views on sexuality as humans or elves? What is the chantry views on sexuality? Does a religious person have a different view of homosexuality in this world?
Throughout history views towards sexuality has changed. In Ancient Greece for example, it was ok for two men to have sex, but it was frowned upon if one male was seen as submissive in the relationship (they both had to me aggressive manly men for the relationship to be ok). If BioWare is going to keep putting homosexuality in this world we need some kind of reference of what it means to be homosexual in this world. You don't just put it in the game to get points for being "progressive", you should put it in to say something about your world.
Also I wonder the validity of your statement when you say 'we don't see homosexuality everyday' IRL. Really? What kind of sheltered environment are you living in? B'cuz even when ppl aren't open about it due to social pressure, a fixed and solid 10% of our population will still be primarily gay.
Not to mention bisexuality is actually more realistic than having definitive orientations. Go ask any social scientist and most will tell you that the ******-heterosexual divide is completely arbitrary and socially constructed. Meaning we are ALL potentially bisexual if only the society doesn't intrude on our sexual preferences.

The more options, the better.
Simply do not klik heart and no problem, OK? No romance, no offence. Or is it TOO SIMPLE?
Do we realy need big warnings? Or mods? Or 'pick side' options? For who? If ppl can't read the icons will they read the warning tekst? Or does it stop ppl who want to agrue about this? I do not think so.
It looks like "Life of Brian" to me.
