ummm cuz it's not a fact that the DA2 lead writer is homosexual while the fan being homophobic is.
ohh and way to be rude and homophobic.

How?  I didn't see any irrational fear, or aversion, or discrimination towards homosexuals in the op.  Only an opinion that he thinks that Bioware neglected  a demographic.

"I don't think many would argue with the fact that the overwhelming majority of RPG gamers are indeed White. Sure, there are a substantial amount of Black people who play video games, but they're usually gamers who play games like The Sims, rather than games like Dragon Age. That's not to say there isn't a significant number of black people who play Dragon Age and that BioWare should forego the option of playing as a black person altogether, but there should have been much more focus in on making sure us white gamers were happy. "

There's op's opening paragraph. I substituted the word "straight male" for white and "female" for black/black people. I hope that makes op's homphobia more clear.

That is one way to twist and obscure what OP said. I could start replacing words too based on whatever agenda and you would get stuff what the OP never said. However I have no need to twist and obscure stuff.

Even if I read that editet version of OPs posting I can only see him wanting the game would be catered for both white and black people and not only black people.

I can't see all the evil in his posting what people here want to see.

and DA2 only catered to gay people?

As I said it is a part of personality. I see that you only notice things you want to notice and not what peole say.  For example Sten is not a very funny person he dont tell jokes or make funny things. Imagine in DA3 he becomes clown.

Do you undrestand what I mean or you will try to change word "funny" to "black"?:D

So it's really important but you can't actually give any example of how or why it's important.

If you're going to duck a question, you really shouldn't quote the question in your reply.

Good life? A drunkard over compensating is living a good life?

(I should though play the game before I begin to talk about NPCs. So I am just making wild guesses here.)

Edit: Rofl am I the only one who thinks there is much more in life than sex?

There is much more than sex to life to me too. Isabela also cares about other things, she talks a lot about how much she misses her old life and stuff. But sex is something she cares about a lot, and it's in her mind a lot, and she doesn't give a crap what others may think about it. I think that's very commendable.

Sounds pretty selfish and kind of sex addict.

Some psychologist should analyse Isabella.

Edit: Obsession caused by remorse?

What's important is that he felt it catered more to gay people then straight people and has a right to point that out
and express is oppinion without wrongfuly being accused of "Homophobia" which in it self is just an hyperbole word, but some "Heterosexual" people take great offence to that insult.

I don't see how the OP's meaning is twisted by the revised quote. Johnny Dollar's being cosistent here -- he doesn't think either version is wrong.

And honestly, I'm not getting evil there, either. Stupid, yeah, since the expenditure of resources to make the companions bi is trivial in the overall scheme of things

You want gay content? Ok, you have Zevran. But if 4 of 4 romanceble NPC's are bi it is not equality and it is not a way to make everyone happy.

Of course I can live with it, more to say same maps all over the game is much more disturbing.

But I really would like Bioware to make good romances like they did in BG. And it is not easy to make 8 DIFFERENT romances so that is why I against bi.

And one more thing, sexuality is really a part of personality. For me Sten from DAO is straight and I cant imagine him being gay, also goes to Morrigan. People, usually, do have sexual preferrence and that is why it is not convincingly when npc's sexuality depends not on who they are, but who you are.

I also noticed someone saying that people who oppose gay relations in game must be forced to gay sex. Man... I would hurt you very much if you ever tried this crap. Be polite, and others will be polite to you.

If sten were gay what mandatory changes to his personality would occur? ditto for Morrigan?

You said you can't imagine Sten being gay. Okay. Sten was not romanceable in DAO and never made any mention of romance. So if David Gaider said Sten was gay, what about Sten in DAO would be so different that it is unimaginable to you?

I would say " and you Brutus?!":D   As I see you didnt understand this part.   "For example Sten is not a very funny person he dont tell jokes or make funny things. Imagine in DA3 he becomes clown."

Of course you can say - "How do you know he is not a gay?"  Just the same way I know he is not a clown :o

Edit: Obsessed?

How is it any more "selfish" than most people? And she certainly doesn't show any signs to me that she seeks sex to make up for something else. She just enjoys it. Similar to how I don't play fighting games to make up for anything, nor am I addicted to them in the literal sense, I just really enjoy playing them so I've kicked my fair amount of Ryus in my day (Ryu is the main character in Street Fighter in case the reference is lost on you =)). She's doing what she loves and she's speaking her mind. Don't see why she'd need a psychologist, if anything I think young girls nowadays need more role models such as her to desensitise them from the norm of how women aren't supposed to enjoy sex, which is a pretty big part of our needs. (I'm writing a paper on Freud atm, so my mind is kind of... =D )

If someone would say me level headedly face to face "ur homophobic" I would probably just laugh and say "yes".

But I see people using that word here with very different tone.

That's why I see it offending in a way if someone would yell madly to someone of him being claustrophobic. Or worse actually since this touches sexuality which is more sensitive and personal thing.

As soon as equal opportunity comes up those used to having all of the benefits to themselves get overly protective and blame those that win a little equality for eroding theirs. All of you with issues about this please listen to that song by Lily Allen.

Statistically homesexuals represent a very small minority of the population. Not sure if it's 1% or 2% or less than that, but let's give it a generous 5%. That's 1 in 20. Yet every single romance-able npc in the game is homosexual (or well, bisexual actually). It just doesn't make any sense.

Homophobia has nothing to do with it. I just can't see how it's possible that I get hit on by all my male companions. It's yet another immersion breaker. Like a cheap porn movie where you enter a hospital and find out that all the nurses are having sex with each other and want to have with you as well.

It's a nice fantasy but it's not particularly realistic. I'm pretty sure that the gay rp community doesn't find it very immersive either.

Since when people are not allowed to do requests ragarding games? His request to get some hetero people is as valid request as is request to get more gay people.

To insult him being homophobic because he asked for heteros in games is like to insult gays being heterophobic if they asked for gays in games.

Have you even played the game ? You can get hit on by ONE, exactly just one single male companion.

Now, this is actually a serious point. Bio should probably require the PC to express interest in the companion first -- most of the time, anyway.

Edit: which doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with DA2. Just something to watch out for in the future.

Equality? You are pulling equality to the situations where it does not belong to. Equality is about having the same rights, responsibilities, and opportunities. Not about forcing creative industry to cater for every minority in their stories.

This is why I don't understand this discussion since BW could make all NPC gay and it would not be a question of equality. It would be just creative freedom in creating the world or story.
