True.

I haven't seen people being hostile towards gays in real life. But gays or whoever has been very hostile to those who don't want to do gay sex in real life or in video games or who do not want to be harassed by gays, or who ask for even ONE hetero LI.

However the homophobic card is pulled like it would be pop corn in BW forums.

No one has said you HAVE to pursue homosexual relationships in the game.
And why is it so bad to have them in a game, exactly?

Flirting is not harassment, unless it is offensive, part of stalking or just plain persistent.

Scientific research links / sources please? Until proven wrong, I still think that everyone is heterosexual by birth and then decides to be homosexual at one point - or not.

Why would anyone decide that? Is gay sex that much better?

Yes, well, what can I say. It's true. I have seen a lot of posters stating they are not homophobic, followed by a clearly homophobic opinion. Like, for example, saying they like gay people less than straight people on principle.

You are seriously misinformed if you think homosexuality is some kind of decision process or choice, it isn't. Being homoseuxal is no more of a choice, than if you or I choose to be heterosexual. Do you actually make a concerted decision to be straight every day in your life? The only choices made relevant to sexuality, is the act of engaging in sex.

Can you back that up please? I'd like to get a few sources that prove people being born homosexual, thanks. Right now, it's the complete opposite - humans are animals, we have strong reproduction instincts and reproduction can only happen as it's meant to be: sex between a male and a female being.

Listen to yourself. I would hardly consider someone my friend with such a condescending tone. You have gay friends, though you have to emphasize that you don't hate gays. But you all but proselytize heterosexuality onto two of them by some method of "hitting on" the opposite sex. Let me tell you something, they are still attracted to men, whether you believe them or not. And you are not their friend if you tried/are trying to make them into someoen they are not that you want them to be. A *real* friend accepts their friends just as they are.

A real friends wants the best for his friends and that's all I did. He is now happily married for 4 years and has a 2 year old daughter...man, looks like I ruined his life for him. Those guys were strong, intelligent and caring persons with a lot of social responsibility and I just can't see that go to waste - they are awesome potential parents, so I took the chance and did the best.

As stated above, I am conservative and against stuff like e.g. homosexual marriages because I think that marriage is a very special ceremony / privilege that should be restricted to the "natural" couple of man and woman, including stuff like lower taxes and sth. as such a relationship increases the nation's growth / genetic pool and should be preserved.

Being homosexual is just as natural as being heterosexual is.

Okay, you're a troll, thanks, it's obvious now. It's natural to be homosexual? Great, we'd been extinct by now. As stated above, links / sources please. Scientific sources, not that Yahoo Questions stuff please

No simple, single cause for sexual orientation has been conclusively demonstrated, but research suggests that it is by a combination of genetic, hormonal, and environmental influences. It is not a choice. When you are born you have a genetic advantage to become gay. And hormones are generally created within the body, the blueprints for these hormones are also hardcoded in your genetics. So yeah, it's mainly genetic. You are born that way.

And homosexuality is natural. Homosexual behaviour has now been observed among 1,500 species and in 500 of those it is well documented.

There you go. I can provide you more links if you want.

I just did not like getting rivalry points for choosing not to flirt with someone. How am I being an ass if I tell someone in a nice way that I am not interested in someone like that.

WOW this thread is no longer about the game in question is it....

family, and the cute little ones often lend a helping hand when they
engage in oral sex with each other."

Some of you people here weird me out more than I do others with my relationship. Seriously.
Originally wanted to state something to the effect that the human companions have shown direct or indirect bi-sexuality before DA2, that Elvhen just might swing that way more frequently, or just don't care.
But since this discussion has alread derailed beyond rescue...

Topics like this really shift people's opinions from game issues to their real problems, don't they.
Devs must be happy seeing everyone at each other throats instead of hating their game again.

It's funny because I have never seen a gay/bi/transsexual harassing heterosexuals, whereas I have heard plenty of hatecrimes, bullying and discrimination against LGBT people. For centuries these people have been shunned away by society, hunted even.  In perspective, heterosexuals really have nothing to complain about.

The only reason things have occationally turned hostile in this thread is because "you" (speaking widely here) refuse to listen to their completely valid arguments and continue spewing homophobic messages.

And, yet again, you have TWO straight LIs. Can you not count? And you would not have gotten any more if they made them all straight.

Yep you can say abnormal and be accurate, but unantural does not apply as homosexuality exists in nature.

Studies indicate that about 10% (give or take a few percents) of the population is gay. 10 percent is not considered to be abnormal.

And again. Thanks dude. Calling every homosexual abnormal, classy.

Really? Because I am in my 3rd play throw and everytime I am nice to him in the begginging I find my self given 3 options. the top is to flirt with him, the middle is not to flirt with him, and the botom is to flirt with him. WHen I pick the middle I allwas get 10 rivalry points... I dont mind him making a pass at my character however just took me back that BioWare would do that to someone who does not want to play a homosexual character....

For the record I am leaving this thread because how can this be about the game any more...

While I get that, you can't call a whole demographic abnormal and think that it's going to be percieved as a legitimate non offensive statement.

If a game can incite this kind of discussion, it can't be that bad, now can it?

Or it can be *that* bad that only this kind of discussion came out of it.
Or people are that bad, never can hold their opinions on intimate things.

But from my perspective, in english-speaking communities "******" is a Magical Word. In my country we have a word like that, that no matter how out of context, instantly puts people on each other - the "Stalin" word. Just throw some stuff about murderous Stalin and look people s*** their pants trying to outshout each other.

Actually, I can't think of any use for "unnatural."

Abnormal is a pretty squishy concept too. Is my nearsightedness abnormal, or is it part of the normal variation of human vision? If someone's shorter than average, how short does he have to be before his height is "abnormal"?
