Why can't this be about the quality of the game design instead?

Sigh, I guess this goes back to topic, boring. I don't care what kind of romances there are in the game. Hell, even if Bioware is forced (for some reason) to cut romances out entirely  in DA3 in order to concentrate on MORE IMPORTANT things, thus making the game better, so be it.

Of course, there's a time for fantasy and there's a time for reality. Although, playing games with your girlfriend can be a rewarding experience too. :3

I've not followed the original complaint or the dev response, but having seen some of Dragon Age 2 now I'm relieved that the issue seems to be overblown.  Granted, I've only seen Act 1.

I'd feared Bioware had created some topsy turvy world where everybody was bisexual but it seems not to be the case.  Anders and Fenris set off very strong gaydar alarms at first sight.  If you don't want to trigger the romance then stop trying to be best friends with obvious gays.

That is at odds with the sort of completionist rpg mindset and directive, savoring the immersion in the inner fantasy world, but the game as a whole seems not very compatible with that, as many have noted, and it's just how it is.  As a personal matter I think I'd find it quite enjoyable nonetheless, but we shall see beyond Act 1

Not my job, straight man's job in straight relationship. They'll work, women raise children and serve the man in the house. Nothing fancier.

I cannot describe exactly how happy it makes me to see responses like this one, and from Gaider earlier, to these kinds of threads.

It seems like day after day, the forums are endlessly trolled with new "I can't believe you'd make all the love interests bisexual" with a frequency that I'm sure out-numbers the actual number of people who are upset with the decision. I just don't understand why it brings out all this anger in people. As a gay person, I play games with straight romances all the time and it never bothers me, disgusts me, makes me feel like a character can't be related to, etc... I recognize straight privilige on the whole and wish it weren't so, but it doesn't mean I loathe any one game as a vehicle for the straight agenda, just like this game isn't some vehicle for the gay agenda. It's not even like there ARE no straight romances in this game. It's not even like romance is the POINT of this game. Every day I see comments like the ones made by the OP, I feel more and more disheartened that maybe the world isn't even at the point of being able to accept one game that allows PCs of any sexuality to pursue any character as a small, completely avoidable story mechanic, and that maybe now it will never happen again, and will swing hard in the opposite direction alla ME2. Comments like the ones made by Epler, though, make me feel restored hope that Dragon Age, as a series, will continue to give people CHOICES. <3

You should visit WoW forums. There can start a helluva war if in patch notes reads "decreased X of ability Z by Y seconds" etc. But actually you don't see wars in WoW forums because there is war of everything all the time.

There is also a condom that plays music, and the more energy you invest into... what you are doing with whatever the condom is used on.. the louder it plays the music.
