Please don't hijack the term realist to describe your bigotry.  If you see homosexuals as unnatural or somehow lesser than heterosexuals, you're a homophobe.  That's all there is to it.

If you want to have a conversation, I'm all for it, but don't make wild accusations.

I knew that this thread would decline into the typical natural vs. unnatural stuff. Way to go!

More like, you're bi, but don't want to admit it. People who prefer one gender, but are not totally closed to a relationship with the other, are still bi. Only they haven't acted on the potential. For the truly straight person, the possibility doesn't even exist. Unimaginable. Absolutely not. (Notice this has nothing to do with not respecting other people's choices. It's about one's own choices).

I do realise I kind of sound like a closeted bi, but the thing is I'm not attracted to females in a sexual way. I don't see a pretty girl and think, "I wonder what her lipstick tastes like." (<--- woot?!) Anyways... that does not mean I am entirely averted to the idea. Just like not even Ianto Jones, with no history of gay relationships, could resist the sexappeal of Cpt. Jack Harkness (sorry if I spoilered!). :)

Admittedly, I think it's only one person towing the unnatural line at present. Hope it stays that way. >.>

-People dont have a sexual-orientation-radar. If a guy tries to flirt with you is not different when you try to flirt with a girl. Just turn him down. Everyone has the right to flirt, everyone can reject a proposiont and everyone can stand being rejected. As well as you dont know if you have any chance with that hot girl on the bar until you try a guy doesnt know either if he has any chance with you. Does this mean he cant try? That wouldnt be fair dont you think?

Well that may seem fair from the gay guy's point of view. However many straight men find approaches of this kind highly offensive. I think you should "evaluate the terrain" first, perhaps make some enquiries with other friends or something. I believe this is the root of the Anders problem in the game.

After some thinking I do believe that the all bi thing is not the problem here. But rather how it is handle. I think it would be no problem at all if it had been done better. How? Well, the thing is it should be done in a way a straigh Hawke never get flirted by any male companion unless the companion was clearly meant to be gay/bi (Zevran) while I gay Hawke will. To achieve that there must be a way that the game recognize the player tastes before making any of the npc make a move. How? Well it would be enough to let Hawke make the first advance always.

This is a very good idea.

OK, here is a fun puzzel with 3 senarios.

At the begining of times of Humans here on earth:

1- All humans both Males and females are "Heterosexuals"
2- Humans are equaly split between "Heterosexuals" and "Homosexuals"
3- All humans both Males and females are "Homosexuals"

Q: what the result of impact of each scenario on humanity?

You can't have a conversation with someone who doesn't even know basic proven facts or denies them. Pretty much like evolutionists vs. creationists. No offense to anyone.

I personally think option 4- All Human's are bisexual works best,  but, I 'm just a shallow greedy bisexual.  <_<

About the LI sexuality thing:

For me it seemed like Fenris was more pansexual and Merrill didn't have a firm grasp on her own sexuality yet.
Isabela was just sexual (no prefix needed).
Anders hitting on you without incitement was quite refreshing from always being the one who has to start it. I also found it quite reasonable, that he would only tell a guy about liking men.

None of it felt inconsistent or tacked-on for me.

Unless you've studied prehistory, this is a rather pointless question.

And, yes, I have.

Even though there have been some terrible grammar and spelling throughout this thread, it's just too much of a bother to play editor on every post, when it's fully understandable for (mostly) everyone anyway. We all make mistakes...

If anyone REALLY wants their own personal grammar/spelling police, I can be that for you. ;P
I'm reading it all anyway...

Apus I would gladly take! Grammer polices are good to check example because they don't want to get caught by another grammer police, thus they have very high probability to be correct.

Just be carefull to not get caught by spamming if you police me ;)

Kinsey is to sex what Freud is to psychology. In both cases, they broke ground and were revolutionary, but many of their ideas are now obsolete and many of their results are considered biased.

Anyway, using Kinsey's 0= straight, 1-5= bi, 6= gay.

Ahaha, it's okay, I was joking anyway. This particular story is long-finished and has already been translated into two other languages. Neither of which I read, now that I think about it. I wonder how faithful the translations are... >.>

I usually handle my own editing anyway. But it's commendable that you offer the service for free, it's a boon for writers. :3

True... Maybe that wasn't the best example, but at least it gave food for thought, no?

Meh, I should leave now before I start making up my own theories of sexuality. G'day.

I love how being bi automatically makes a character more shallow.

Didn't you know there's no such thing as 'bisexual', only 'greedy'? :o

Greedy characters are often-times more interesting than shoddy do-gooders in a healthy straight relationship.
And you can bed them without feeling like a d!ck for f*cking someone else´s wife:devil:

"Natural" = the norm? I'm nearsighted. My eyesight is unnatural?

Seriously, if we're going to be talking about what's "natural," we need a coherent definition of "natural."

That would be then your eyesight is not perfect, that is your eyesight would be faulty. You say how it translates to homosexuality. I bet homosexuals don't accept it as replacement for unnatural theory.

I don't disagree there. Some of the most flawed characters are the most interesting. I'm referring to greed here and not sexuality. :P

I have to use that sarcasm tag or I might be misinterpretted. Heck, I wish I had those in real life. When I visit the US, no one seems to understand when I'm being sarcastic. Which is, at times, hilarious and, at other times, unfortunate. >.>

....not this again.

Homosexuality is natural. Nature encompasses anything and everything in the Universe, if something was unnatural, it wouldn't exist. Homosexuality is biological at the very least.

Dont see really why that can be offensive. But anyhow I bet most of these guys dont think it is offensive when it is them who approaches a girl, and why would they?. No matter who approaches who, as long as it is done nicely no one has to feel offended.
(I have to admit Im too shy on everything related with flirting so I would hardly ever do the first move)

Maybe homosexuality was created artifically by the CIA.
