You know what? It's people like you who make both EA and the game designers think they did a spectacular job and don't have to work any harder on the next one. They can do just another rush job so that EA can monopolize on the success of the franchise, and why? Because you didn't have any real standards and as long as you carry this mentality, they're going to produce more rushed games and DLC, because you couldn't say, "No. This isn't worth the money I'm paying for it."

While I agree completely, I don't see why this needed to be a thread and not a reply.

Just think of it as the Daily show's opposition, the Colbert Report. :)

And now we're beyond "personal insults" and deep within "flinging poo"-territory. I called it.

If this is indeed the worst game ever made ever, why are you plagueing these forums again?

But it was worth the money I paid for it. In fact, I got the signature edition. It was a bargain.

Whether you like DA2 or not is a matter of taste, not standards. All that standards in the context of a game is the assumption that one's tastes are superior than others. If DA 2 as not to your taste, then I'm sorry. But you should not imply that it is the fault of people who did enjoy DA 2 as the reason why the game did not match your tastes.

Is it really so hard to comprehend having some high standards for a company who boasted these grandios promises of story and gameplay, only to be stepped on because half of those things were either completely inconsequential, or simply not there at all?

Just like the Fallout 3 vs New Vegas wars; "Anyone who likes that game has no taste or is a drooling idiot" *munches popcorn*

The problem is not that I didn't like it, in fact I enjoyed it up until the last half when I realized it was railroading my choices even the sewers had used the warehouse template.

Dude, what you have isn't standards, it's two parts nostalgia and three parts wishful thinking. You're not a freedom fighter, your head's just stuck in bucket.

You could think there is no middle ground between 'best ever' and 'worst ever'. I find both positions rather unfounded.

you deserve like a 15 pages of "cry moar" responses.

Your self-righteous anger is quite laughable though, so I  hope someone successfully instigates you further.

It's not the worst game ever made, just the largest disappointment (for me, at least). The game had enormous untapped potential, and poo pood on the legacy of DAO.

Reminds me of the heartbreak I felt having to bash Star Wars Episode I.

Er.. no. It is a fact that there are no meaningful choices, and there were numerous claims that there would be, Mr. Troll.

If by "poo pood on the legacy of" you mean "improved every single element", we're in agreement. (Besides, no game could ever hope to be as laughably disappointingly bad as Bad Company 2).

And I'm NOT going to tackle the star wars issue here, too biased for that :|

I'm all for opinions, but let's make this a rule: Please don't reply to threads with extreme views or "hate" messages. I like constructive criticisms, but please this is tiring and it errodes the integrity of the forums.

Seriously, there's tons of choice especially with companions. The can befriend them or become their rival or even get the killed in some way. Sure, the major plot points stay the same. You go to the deep roads and find the idol. The Qunari attack the city. The mages and templars go at it across Thedas. However, the circumstances behind those plot points can vary significantly.

Quoted for posterity.

In the quoted message, its author insists that it is fact that there are no meaningful choices.   Whether a choice is meaningful or not is completely subjective, thereby precluding the statement from being verifiable, and thusly not a fact.

You should stick to crying I think.  It is probably difficult to do that wrong.

Did you even watch the interviews? Even the German interview stated 12 endings. They boasted a frame narrative, and yet we saw that maybe 5 times throughout a 30 to 50 hour game. The dungeons were constantly repetitive and as wonderful as the characters were, their story arches felt forced into little side quests, instead of flowing naturally.

The choices I made to save Bethany were very meaningful. I replayed the entire deep rodes with anders just so she wouldn't die. So not fact.

Are you kiiding me? The character story archs flowed much better than DAO. It takes time to develop relationships in DA2. In DAO I could become best friends and/or lovers right after ostagar (not using dlc)  just by selecting appropiate dialogue at camp.

Technically, I didn't watch them, nor did I watch any trailers. What I did was play through a game that was better then anything the company has made to date, and at least started to tackle every single issue I've ever had with their products. Call me easy to please if you want, but to me that's enough.
