No, this is a theme thread where (from what I've seen thus far) the author plans to attempt some sort of avante garde strategy gaming where he refuses to agree with respondents on how some basic thing (the definition of the word "fact" and what it entails) should be treated in the thread.

It is tres-leet metagaming with a whiny forum twist!

Oh yes, because having my own opinion and stating people should have higher standards is totally being whiny!

Funny thing is that this thread is probably going to outgrow the other, simply because of the people who respond to this thread because they disagree with it's existance or with the comments of the OP. Funny how it works.

Oh yeah, totally. I want to catch the attention of the developers who have been blinded by their scores from IGN, etc. Despite the fact that people have been fired from such places as GameSpot for giving a bad review. And other places that have given a legitimately low score have been ignored in their ads placement.

In the context of a literary work, it's not subjective. If the most important choice in the game involves whether Hawke eats a healthy apple or a plate of bacon for breakfast, that is not a meaningful choice. Bioware promised epic choices where you shape the world, choosing between an apple or bacon is -literally- not that. Also, Bethany's survival isn't a choice, my ignorant troll friend. It's something that happens or doesn't. It's more railroading. If you reload a save and decide to leave Bethany behind knowing what will happen to her, that doesn't mean you made a choice, it means you rebelled against The Plot Express. There is no way Hawke could have foreseen that the Plot Railroad would run over Bethany if he brought her along, so blaming her death on his 'choice' is just moronic.

I considered both the benefits of bringing Anders and Bethany to the deep rodes. Remember when Wesley died? Flemeth said a Grey Warden could save him from the taint. I seriously considered bringing him for the possibility of someone getting the taint. I also considered leaving Bethany at home to protect mother.

Those are all meaningful choices. Do you know how many different possible outcomes exist for certain events in the story? I'm guessing not.

Right I'm sorry. Bioware takes away freewill and forces us to buy games with their marketing ploys. I guess me actually enjoying the game is their fault too? You claim the game isn't good. I believe it is. That's your opinion and I have mine. I thought I would like it and I did.

It seems foolish for you to be bashing a game and its creators because it's not your cup of tea.

I  agree with this to a point.  I also believe that providing feedback is important.  At this point though, virtually every possible complaint has been the focus of multiple threads.   These forums have been transformed into a gigantic group therapy session where people who enjoy the game come to volunteer their time counseling those who do not, and are unable to deal with those feelings in a healthy way.


I am nothing if not a humanitarian.

These are two entirely different threads. One is about gaming standards and the other is about alternate endings and railroading plots.
