No, this is a theme thread where (from what I've seen thus far) the author plans to attempt some sort of avante garde strategy gaming where he refuses to agree with respondents on how some basic thing (the definition of the word "fact" and what it entails) should be treated in the thread.
It is tres-leet metagaming with a whiny forum twist!
Oh yes, because having my own opinion and stating people should have higher standards is totally being whiny!

No. That would be the doing of the marketing department and dev team who made promises and didn't come close to delivering.

Everwarden, how about you go have a nice cold shower now, and come back once you're sobered up?
If I'm so clearly wrong, address the arguments. If I'm drunk it should be really, really easy. Insulting me rather than making a case for your own position is obvious deflection, and evidence that you can't defend your stance.
Tearing your position apart won't exactly be hard with almost the entirety of two games to back up my arguments. Problem is, you're not here to get into debate (and infact have proven to leave other threads the very second you're confronted with an argument). You're here to spout insults, and celebrate your rage.
I'm perfectly willing to tear your position down again, like I have the same very position in about five different threads today alone. But I won't waste the effort, as long as you're clearly beyond the reach of words.
Dude listen to yourself, just count the insults you've been vomiting out on this page alone. And then have a cold shower, and come back once you're interested in any form of debate. Don't worry, I'll wait.

Funny thing is that this thread is probably going to outgrow the other, simply because of the people who respond to this thread because they disagree with it's existance or with the comments of the OP. Funny how it works.redBadger14 wrote...

Oh yeah, totally. I want to catch the attention of the developers who have been blinded by their scores from IGN, etc. Despite the fact that people have been fired from such places as GameSpot for giving a bad review. And other places that have given a legitimately low score have been ignored in their ads placement.

Meaning is not objective you fool. It's subjective no matter much you think its not. I gave an example of a meaningful choice to me concerning bethany's survival. If it wasn't meaningful to you than great but don't start spouting it as fact.
In the context of a literary work, it's not subjective. If the most important choice in the game involves whether Hawke eats a healthy apple or a plate of bacon for breakfast, that is not a meaningful choice. Bioware promised epic choices where you shape the world, choosing between an apple or bacon is -literally- not that. And there are no choices (at least that I can think of, give me examples) that amount to more than apple v. bacon.
Also, Bethany's survival isn't a choice, my ignorant troll friend. It's something that happens or doesn't. It's more railroading. If you reload a save and decide to leave Bethany behind knowing what will happen to her, that doesn't mean you made a choice, it means you rebelled against The Plot Express. There is no way Hawke could have foreseen that the Plot Railroad would run over Bethany if he brought her along, so blaming her death on his 'choice' is just moronic.
Your head truely is in a bucket.
I considered both the benefits of bringing Anders and Bethany to the deep rodes. Remember when Wesley died? Flemeth said a Grey Warden could save him from the taint. I seriously considered bringing him for the possibility of someone getting the taint. I also considered leaving Bethany at home to protect mother.
Those are all meaningful choices. Do you know how many different possible outcomes exist for certain events in the story? I'm guessing not.

Right I'm sorry. Bioware takes away freewill and forces us to buy games with their marketing ploys. I guess me actually enjoying the game is their fault too? You claim the game isn't good. I believe it is. That's your opinion and I have mine. I thought I would like it and I did.

It seems foolish for you to be bashing a game and its creators because it's not your cup of tea.
I agree with this to a point. I also believe that providing feedback is important. At this point though, virtually every possible complaint has been the focus of multiple threads. These forums have been transformed into a gigantic group therapy session where people who enjoy the game come to volunteer their time counseling those who do not, and are unable to deal with those feelings in a healthy way.
I am nothing if not a humanitarian.

So true. I've spouted so very, very many insults. I have a little book of insults that I copy and paste from while wearing my rage-celebration birthday hat.

I've counted.. two, in this thread. You've insulted me far more than that, and I'm replying in a far more civil tone than you are. I'd suggest working out those anger issues you have.

You know what? It's people like you who make both EA and the game designers think they did a spectacular job and don't have to work any harder on the next one. They can do just another rush job so that EA can monopolize on the success of the franchise, and why? Because you didn't have any real standards and as long as you carry this mentality, they're going to produce more rushed games and DLC, because you couldn't say, "No. This isn't worth the money I'm paying for it."
lol So a person using the word understated and then a post or two later saying,. I may have been a bit too enthused by saying master piece is to blame any more than the hoard of fools that blast the game top to bottom with no real constructive criticism and offering no credit for what the game did well?
Let's see there has been about 100 of the fool threads for every 1 that is overly optomistic. Start a thread for each of the idiotic threads bashing everything in sight and I'll take you seriously.

These are two entirely different threads. One is about gaming standards and the other is about alternate endings and railroading plots.
