Just face it Ashley/Kaidan ain't gonna be ME 3.Bioware can care less about them 2. Bet they kill off your surviving vs. in the beginning of ME 3. Put your money up up if you actually think VS. aint on Biowares "I Forgot" list.

Very interesting indeed. Some questions were answered, but left me asking more in the end.

This thread is turning out worse than a "Star Destroyer vs the USS Enterprise NCC-1701D" debate.

I read the second page, and I agree that the spoilers aren't major. However, others might disagree.

That being said, I'm a tad confused about what was revealed. A certain someone (actually, multiple someones) becomes indoctrinated once near a certain artifact... and yet that person was perfectly normal before? I thought indoctrination took place over time and slowly manifested itself. And I was under the impression that once it took hold, being near the source (i.e. reapers, etc.) had no bearing on the victim's state of mind. Why would an indoctrinated individual fully reveal their goals to the enemy? If the person is under the influence of reapers, I seriously doubt they'd spout the reapers' plans. Unless we're supposed to believe this was some sort of Benezia type mind "reserve." I really hope IGN's preview is quite an abridged account.

well look at saren. whats the year gap when he got indoctrinated between the novel and the first game? also for all we know the person in the new dlc couldve had that artifact longer before it became public knowledge

Since when have the ME2 writers been arsed about contradicting anything that has previously been established? Image IPB

I never really bought into the Relays are indestructible notion, although one surviving the blast wave of a supernova is pretty intense.

You know, allowing this mission to be available before the suicide mission kinda weakens the plot of ME2.

I'll just be playing post-game and pretending it's been months since the suicide mission...

+1

Worst thing about it imo. I'll be doing the same as you, but, when I do my Adept playthru, Hackett will be there after I slip in disk 2

+2

I have to imagine that it will play better after the SM, just like LotSB.  I have to say, after reading the second page. Arrival could be an epic personal story for Shep or it could be a "pew pew" fest.  Wishes for both.

So i'm the only thinking that it's available immediately after Horizon in order to cater for those who moved on from ME and don't have their saves anymore?

i know the derelic reaper was millions maybe even billions years old according to the illusive man. i do remember something that a brown star caused it to become derelic so thats another thing that needs to be adressed

If you've moved on and deleted your saves, why would you care about this DLC?

I never read the novels, so I can't comment on Saren before ME1.

My question is concerning the person being indoctrinated once near a certain object. According to IGN, until Shepard is escorted to the facility containing the object, this person is acting "normal." Once near the object, the person and her team ambush Shepard. But that makes no sense! How could she even know Shepard would come to rescue her? Is she psychic? And even assuming she somehow knew, why would she tell him the reapers' plans before the ambush takes place?

Again, maybe our knowledge of the nature of indoctrination is incomplete. That's been alluded to at different points (Virmire). But the indoctrination has never seemed to depend on closeness to the source. Once it takes hold, it seems to stay with a person no matter where they go. Basically, it scrambles your brain. Even Benezia, regarded as extremely strong-willed, could only hold off the effects for mere moments; a single conversation.

Well, it ain't all that uncommon for DLC to reignite people's interest in a game, and certainly isn't uncommon for people to delete save games to create space (mainly talking 360 here).

i have a theory that maybe some humans have been indoctrinated during the evens of me2. i also feel that a certain someone set shepard up if you catch my drift

So even after all of this time, and bringing in the VA's for ME3, they're going to cut squadmates entirely from the DLC with a weak excuse about Hackett wanting you to go alone? Took two DLC's for you guys to come up with an excuse like this? :P It also sucks for those people who wanted ashley/kaiden to be in the last DLC.

It's a trap, I suspect Hackett is an unwitting participant... hopefully.

Don't make me have to put a bullet in Hackett, it would be like killing Old Yeller.

tbh i like the idea of the final dlc of shep going solo. and why complain we are getting 5 missions total so for all we know the first part can be solo wile the rest is with your squad. all i can say is lets wait till tuesday and then give our options on it.

Nah, Cerberus is probably an arm of the Alliance.
