Near the end of the second act where the Qunari are invading, you come in contact with the Grey Wardens. Instead of helping you, they leave since they have "more pressing matters to intend to". What do you think these "pressing matters" are?

Note: There may already be a thread for this but I did not see one, so if there is, don't complain Posted Image

Um, darkspawn?

Heh, I don't know. I hope we see more of this in the future, and I also hope this means we get to play our Warden again.

A warden commander has gone missing, and they are following up on a lead.

I'm guessing that it has something to do with the Architect and/or his disciples.

they ought to be hunting down freaking Anders /facepalm.

According to his intro story that the writers posted, didn't he slaughter half the Grey Wardens in Amaranthine when the whole Justice thing happened?

they're too busy trying to convince the Awakened darkspawn to cause trouble and follow the script.

they've gotta 'look' busy, else someone might think they start blights just to look good.

If they were hunting down Anders, what would happen if he was in your party? (which he was for me) No offence, but it just doesn't make sense.

Morrigan and the "baby" if you did the ritual. The baby would actually be a child by then. Or something related to Morrigan and Flemeth if you didn't do the ritual. -L

There are numerous possibilities
The Architect
The Warden going missing
Morrigan's Baby
A lead on the location to one of the old gods, giving them a chance to slay an archdemon before its even created.

Didn`t Howe say that the wardens had new allies, and that it was "complicated". I am guessing it has to do with the new race. (Phex, was it? I keep forgetting).

A convenient excuse to not allow the player to have a proper conversation with Bethany/Carver, that's best saved for the quest that never triggers for me... Doubt it will be of much importance to us, just some generic Warden business, all of the really cool things can not happen (Warden Commander can be dead, Architect can be dead). Wouldn't be the first retcon in the series I guess, if it turned out to be something like that, but I'd like to think it won't.

Plus an excuse for them not to stick around. Got to wonder why they were put there in the first place, I guess..

Haha.  exactly! -- hence the facepalm.  They did the same thing TWICE in my game (once in the Deep Roads and once in Lowtown when the Qunari attacked).  They're clearly suffering from the lack of Warden Commander leadership.

In all seriousness though it probably has something to do with the Architect -- who I killed in my DA:A game after reading  Dragon Age: The Calling by Mr. David Gaider.   Seriously, that thing needs to be stopped -- but loading a DLC beginning wasn't an option so there you go.

I was actually surprised that Nathaniel gave you as much information as he did.  Grey Wardens usually keep those kinds of things secret even from each other.

The warden commander cannot die, as there is no choice to kill yourself in Awakening. The warden/Hero of Ferelden, however, can die.

It would have to be Darkspawn right, since that's what they specialize in. I think.

There is certain dialogue in Awakening if you married Anora that heavily implies that you, the Warden, have either already left the Wardens and are just returning for one last fight; or plan on doing so.
