They are probably out searching for Brent Knowles.

God speed, if that's the case.

They are waiting for DA3 to come out so we can play as one of them.
Or they are going to fight the good fight... the one that was hinted at in the end of KOTOR 2.

Take a second look at them. They are completely rumpled and disheveled. They have an appointment with the best laundry in Thedas.

Recruiting mission.

Step 1: Identify the best fighter, mage, rogue or leader in an area.
Step 2: Lie through your teeth that they are needed for a noble cause.
Step 3: Make them drink Darkspawn blood, kill them if they resist.
Step 4: Watch as two out of every three of the best fighters in the land die drinking Spawn blood.
Step 5: Watch as they die quicker than the normal person and often cannot pass on their genetically superior genes.
Step 6: Sit back and rest for 100 years.

Huh. I always just assumed it had to do with idol that they found. But then you would figure Nathaniel would just ask Hawke about it. I'm on my second play through, this time with Bethany becoming a Grey Warden. Maybe that will change some of the dialog?

I don't know what the pressing matters are. But I let the Architect live and it was hinted that the Wardens now have 'strange allies'. So I guess the Wardens somehow allied with the Architect. And if I am not all wrong these pressing matters will have to do with Blights, Archdemons or Darkspawn.

It could be any number of things, really.

The Warden Commander is missing. There is the possibility of more intelligent Darkspawn. A Thaig that predates that Blight was uncovered. And there are two more Old Gods taking a nap somewhere. With a third possibly born back into the world.

Warden Commander is missing (mines a "prince-consort") and i think I heard rumors that Orlais is trying to invade Fereldan, because they are super weakened after the blight. Alistair came to Kirkwall seeking aid from the Free Marches, since they are their closest neighbor. Since the Grey Warden Commander is missing no one is available to unite the people and stop this impending invasion. So right now Fereldan is in the crapper, and Alistair is trying to find allies and locate the Grey Warden

Also i killed the architect because no one is stopping for some of the darkspawn from coming back and causing another blight or war and if they did, they would be more smart and intelligent then before making the problem worse. So i couldn't take that chance

I don't think it has to do with the Architect as many could have killed him...I think this has more to do with either the missing hero of ferelden, or morrigan's god baby...or both. So I doubt pressing matters would mean something that could have happened vs something we know happens no matter what which is the Warden disappearing...which he/she does no matter how you ended the game...for me it was a king who didnt go through eluvian...so mine disappeared i'm sure people are frantically searching for him

Well I think surviving against the Qunari is a pretty "pressing matter", so perhaps thats all they were talking about.

Architect sent tainted cookies to Qunari at Par Vollen. They're in a hurry to intercept them.

Anyone remember that message you find on the Wounded Coast in Act I and have to pass on to the Wardens? Talking about "alarming implications" of Avernus' research into Grey Warden blood? Figured it had something to do with that, maybe.

 New episodes of fringe, probably!

No, it probably has something to do with Flemeth, since she's alive and well. I think both of these moments in the game have something to do with the events in the next one. It probably also has something to do with Morrigan and the hero of Fereldan.

Near the end of the second act where the Qunari are invading, you come in contact with the Grey Wardens. Instead of helping you, they leave since they have "more pressing matters to intend to". What do you think these "pressing matters" are?

They were late for a darkspawn blood rave..

I don't know, and I can't say I care.

There's about a 50/50 chance that we'll find out in a game, comic book, novel, net-show, or whatever. But judging how many loose ends from DA:O and its DLC there's no way of telling if we'll ever find out because it's not the story that BioWare wants to tell.

I'm not being overly rude either. It's just like the ME2 dark energy tease except you can read about what dark energy is and does and come up with some small and probably wrong guesses. We're just not given enough information to really let speculation run wild.

Same here. We know the Wardens have pressing concerns in Orlais. So? That's not enough for a tease. It may pay off in the future and we can all go, "Oh, that's what that guy meant." But it's not enough information for us to all just have these crazy theories about it.

It's likely Darkspawn related, because they're Wardens.

I am curious about this statement.  Besides "how/why did Shale kill his master" and the dark ritual baby, what loose ends are still out there from DA:O and DLC?  I can't think of any.

I'm more worried over the fact the Wardens say they don't get involved in politics. Yet Weisshaupt Fortress basically has more power than the royalty in the Anderfels. That and the fact that they have the right to point at anyone in the world and say "You! Drink this blood." Seems like a frat with unlimited power. That line made me facepalm when I heard it.

I think i have it figured out!

I never found the Grey Warden drop of documents but my husband did on his playthrough -- they have something to do with picking up some important documents in Lowtown and then continuing to Weisshaupt with important research information for Avernus (the morally questionable but brilliant and old-as-dirt Grey Warden mage from the Warden's Keep expansion). It does have something to do with the Architect's research and Avernus' -- something about unlocking the power in Grey Warden blood.

I don't know, but when I saw them, and heard the DA:O music, I wanted to join them. I begged "Please take me with you, out of this game!"

I know I'm not the only one who felt this pang during that scene.

That would be my guess as well. I hope they find Revan him
They should check Orlais, since there were a lot of hints that the events in DA3 may happen there.

I don't think it has anything to do with Morrigan's baby because you don't have to have a baby with her. My warden turned her down and sent her away, so I died and she left without a god-baby.

It can't be the Architect because a lot of people killed him. It could be the intelligent Darkspawn. They require Grey Warden blood and they could cause a new kind of Blight. That sounds like a very Grey Wardeny kind of problem.

Can't be Avernus or Sophia because either one could be dead depending on your choices. Killing Avernus destroys his research.

A new thaig that pre-dates the Blights might have had information about what the Darkspawn and the Blights really are. The Chantry story is most likely not true. That would interest the Grey Wardens.

New allies might be the Qunari. They must've learned about blights by now and they respect the ethos of the Grey Wardens. Plus Sten (which appears to be a title instead of a name) probably reported back to them by now if he survived.

I think this is part of it, got me to thinking. If you get to play the Warden again, the Warden's will be looking for you, that would be a good story arc, might have to fight the order you left.

They're late for lunch.

I honestly don't think it's anything. It's an excuse to not have GW Alistair - or the others - join your party.
