Should I use Concept instead of Modio to resign and rehash?Im trying to load the save from my usb and not the hard drive.Im worried of replacing the original file with a damaged or corrupted save and if that happens then I will really be screwed.

I used Concept to resign/rehash and it worked perfectly fine for me. Never had an issue with a corrupted save. However I didn't load the save to my xbox from the USB, I moved it to the hard drive from the USB instead and made a backup save just in case.

I've not used concept, so I couldn't really advise you on that.

As far as modio goes, you should be following these steps;

1) Move your save to the USB - I always create 2 saves at the same point so if I have a total failure I still have one on the xbox - I also make a back up on my PC.

2) In modio, click on the M in the top left corner and "explore my device".

3) drag your save onto your desktop or whereever your preferred location is - this is when you should make the back up copy.

4) Open the save in firstblight and make the changes you want then save.

5) Drag the modded save into the modio window, not the device window.  This will make the resigner window aappear.  Hit rehash/resign and close this window.

6) Now drag the modded save into the device window, replacing the existing file.

The save should now be ready to move back onto your xbox.

Some people do experience difficulties with modio for whatever reason, so if you are following these steps and it's still not working for you, try whatever alternatives are available.

I followed your instructions exactly.Unfortunately I get the message  "the save file appears to be damaged and cannot be loaded" I guess I'll have to wait for the next patch to play this character. Thanks anyway.

ok.. So u got my problem I had in my first playthrough. NOT sure if this will work. BUT try it anyways.

If I remember correctly, from my own problem. Your save looks fine. In the loading menu there is even a picture of it, which leads you to believe everything went fine. But upon trying to load it, it freezes just a tiny bit and before it can continue playing the loading screen it tells you the "save is dmged" right? if so try this.

1- Extract Save from your USb drive. onto a folder gona call it "Main Folder".
2- Within that folder create a folder called (core) gonac all it core for here just in case
3- Copy your extracted save onto Core...  DO not touch the "core" saves

To recap, on your Main Folder you will have 2 things.
A- a save
B- "core" (folder, withing this you only have a copy of "A" aka original save)

Now

4- Open Blight editor, and do your thing Try not to set values to high. Just something simple to begin with.
5- Upon finishing close Blight, make sure is closed before you do anything.

6- Open "wxPirs". That extracts stuff, if you downloaded the folder fmro this forum its in the folder called "Extract-Replace". Extract both the save.das and save.das.x using this program
7-Save the save.das and save.das.x into the "Main Folder"

Recap time:
Main folder will contain 4 things:
A- a save

B- "core" (folder, withing this you only have a copy of "A" aka original save)
C- save.das
D-save.das.x

8-Open the Cheksum fix aka dragon_age in the "Dragon Age Checksum Fix" folder
9- The small window with big square opens. Press the resign button... hard to miss it lol
10- Select save.das and open, it will immidiately open the window again, This time select the save.das.x it will look like a small word document (like from notepad)

Note: after this 2nd time the window will not open automatically again, THIS MEANS its done. Dont do anything again.

11- Open Modio, and drag the "blighted" save into it, do not mind the "das" save pieces yet
12- Go into the tab where you can see the "saves" or the pieces.
13- Once there Select the save.das, the very first one, and choose delete should be the last option I think
14- repeat step 13 for the 2nd one down, which is the save.das.x

15- Yselect the first thing choose to "inject file into folder". Choose to inject the save.das that it is in your Main Folder (this was checksumed)
16- Again press "inject fil into folder" and do it for the save.das.x

17-After both have been injected again, go back to the main tab and press reshash resign. Wait until it tells you its done then close the save, not modio all together, the save only.

18- Go into the hash Block Caltulator and open your save in it. it will run a huge list of stuff saying "true"> Make sure they all say true.
19- While in hash Block go to tools menu and select Caculate hash Blocks.

20- Once done, close Hash block.

21-Now In USB xtaf or w/e delete the save you had extracted first., Then inject the copy you modified.

now plug and play.

Hopefully this works. if not... then that means I will meet the same problem in a bit and wont be able to solve it either.

Either way, my recommendation is to mod EVERYTHING you need, right after you get all your companions. Dont do any quests besids the ones you need to get them.

Jesus Spartas, you have to do all that just to use firstblight?
I really can just extract, mod and replace so I feel v. lucky.

PS. One thing, on No.7 you don't state where to extract the .das & .das.x files from.

thank you. Fixed it.

Well when I write it out yes it seems alot. But its pretty much the same as if I used the GFF.

I use blight, extract both "das" checksum both, reinject them into the save using modio. hashblock the whole thing. Plug and play.

There I summed up all the steps above in one sentence lol

anny of you know if its possible to use Cassandra's heavy plate because the medium seeker plate is nice but the shoulder pad arent that great

update:
its ok i did it and for those interested you have to swap your femhawke model for cassandra's model like its described in the first post (it give you her body therefore her armor but not her head(dont know how to do that probably could but i dont realy care))

here's her model number:10002

(you can try it on a male if you want but he will end up being shaped like a 10 years old girl and you probably dont want that if you play a male hawke who's suposed to be strong and mighty or it might just not work)

do you know the armor of the seekers?. Seems the others were male. Even if they dont have the shoulder plates at least gives my mage an alternative. If you know, or anyone else would be awesome.

PS: anyone know how to remove that... umm lower lip piercing from Isabella?

PSS: wish cassandra was a squadie. I got a  thing for women with power. And cassandra definitely fits the description.

I've done exactly as described in the OP to change the friendship meter for Isabella using firstblight, but when I load the save from my USB flash on my 360, nothing is changed, everything is exactly as the original save.

Help please, my Hawke is slower than my grandma.

Once the glitch begins. Loweringh your friendship bar will do nothing. Once the moment arrives where you get a friend's "bonus" it will stay there.

ALso. I have trouble with Fenris and Isabella's friendship bar not actually moving if I change it in first blight, Only through GFF do both of them actually change.

Nothing actually changes, not only friend/rival meter, but even when I change stats, the game doesn't recognize that.

You need to change the attack speed in firstblight to fix this.
To check you're getting it right I'd suggest changing something obvious, like money, as well so you can see if the save has been changed.

PS. I don't use concept so I don't know if it's similar, but the mistake people make on modio is forgetting to save to device, which would cause the issue you're having.

EDIT: If you want to try modio, my post toward the top of the page lays out the steps.

I used modio, rehashed/resigned then chose " save to device." But now when I load the file I get this: "the save file appears to be damaged and cannot be loaded"

PSS: Close a program when you are done using it, Dont try to rehasha save while blight it still open. dont try to use GFF while is open in blight etc. One window at the time. You dont have to close the entire program (like modio you can just close the save) but dont have the same save open in multiple programs. Due to the probability of it getting screwed. Some programs tell u they can't open it because is already in use, but others go right ahead.

I had a an error that prevents me from opening my DAO save file in FirstBlight after extracting it from the Xbox format USB using Xtaf Explorer. I even kept the file name identical etc, but there is no file type on the file after extraction, I don't know if that's a problem or not. Here's the error message when I try to open my save file in FirstBlight:

DeathSstride; that's a new one on me I'm afraid - although it sounds like something Spartas may have come across.
There are some known things that cause errors on loading - having a bow equipped in a DA2 save for example, but I've not seen this one.
Have you tried with other saves? Maybe in a different area?

lol I literally edited/updated my post mentioning that I tried other saves seconds before/after you posted. Anyhow, I don't know if I've tried different locations, most(if not all) the saves were post-coronation, partycamp auto-save after game completion etc...
