D'aw, crap. I added a warrior class to a mage character, and now Carver won't show up at Gamlen's house, so I can't continue the birthright quest. Anybody know what to do to fix this?
did you try deleting that class? if it doesnt work go back to a save were it was not there do the quest then put it back in
also might not be a good idea to put warior related stuff on a mage because warior save are prety unstable(no one know why yet) especialy in act 2 might screw your save up once you get there

Example, their reloading time the effectiveness of its powers.
Example.
Wondering if I could shorten the time that it takes to reload the 3 big potions. Potion of Rock armor, might and life warding?

noone has tried to shorten the cooldown timers?... damn
I think those might be hard-coded into the game data itself. I mean, the only thing I've seen related to that from a savegame modding standpoint has been an unintentional effect when certain spells, such as chain lightning, have a much shorter cooldown time when they're cast by a character wielding a conventional weapon rather than a staff.

I've tested using Gibbs save game mod and that doesn't fix it either.

What I've done so far (I've left out some of the details, e.g. rehashing):
- Found a xbox savegame on the internet in order to have something to work on, and changed its tags using concept.
- Extracted the .das, .das.x, .met and .met.x-files using le fluffie.
- Moved all the data from my pc-savefiles (.das, .das.met) into the xbox-savefiles (.das, .met), using gff4editor. *
- Generated new hashes (.x) using dragon age checksum fix, and moved them into the xbox-save using le fluffie.
- Fixed the hashblocks using xbox 360 hash block calculator
- Moved the save into my xbox using a usb flash drive and usb xplorer.
[*] I noticed that the pc-version had a label named "GFF V4.0 SAVE V1.1 PC", while the xbox-version had the label "GFF V4.0 SAVE V2.0 X360". Also, some of the fields missed from the xbox-version (e.g. 16326, 16836...), so I left those data out of my modified xbox-save.
Now, everything looks fine on my xbox, the savefile looks ok, the metadata looks ok, but when i try to import it into da2, nothing really happens. When i click the savefile, the screen goes somewhat black, and I get the options Y: plot summary, X: switch character, A: Confirm (grayed out) and B: Cancel, with only B and X working.
Problem bypassed, look further down.
While searching for a solution to this, i noticed that the daosavegame.exe (bundled with the gff4editor), shows everything as it should be with the .das file (e.g. money at 2389654, max weight at 225), while when I open the xbox-save in firstblight (after replacing, rehashing and so on), it shows me the default values (money: 0, max weight: 70). Hence, I've come to beleive that something happens while copying the files into the save that makes them unreadable.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how I can fix this?
Update:
I've noticed that firstblight only gets updated if you run "rebuild" in le fluffie. I tried this with a standard xbox savegame, just edited the money and weight limit in gff4, rebuilt the save, and the changes showed in firstblight. Now, I still have a problem when it comes to my xboxified pc-save. If I rebuild it, and try to open it in firstblight, it throws the following exception:System.OutOfMemoryException: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown. at ..(String ) at ..() at ..(Object , EventArgs ) (continued stacktrace...)I'm still debugging to try and find out what causes this exception, but it's kinda hard without access to the source code. Anyone got any knowledge on what might cause this?
Update (05.16.2011):
After some trial and error, I figured out that it was the SAVEGAME_AREALIST that corrupted the savegame. Leaving this out (I also noticed that Gibbled's savegen leaves this list empty, so I figured it's not important), I am able to open the game in Firstblight, and everything looks OK. I am still having the same problem when trying to import the savegame to DA2 however. If anyone have any epilogue xbox da:o-saves that i could use for reference while solving this, it would be much appreciated.

When you maxed out friendship via Firstblight, can you reverse it later, because everytime I tried it the save file gets corrupted

A question. If I replace a weapon skin, is there a way for the weapon to retain it's original name? For instance, I replaced The Low Blade (dagger) skin with Finesse skin. Now, the stats and all the runes remained the same, but the name changed to Finesse along with the skin. So, is there any way around that, or are the weapon skin and it's name inherently stuck together?
Extract and modify the itemvariations file, then put the modified version in the override folder.

I extracted the 'Savegame.das' and the 'Savegame.das.x' and modified the 'Savegame.das' in GFFeditor. I then went to ‘Savegame_PartyPoolMembers' > 'Savegame_Backpack' and added two more spots and modified their TEMPLATERESREF to reflect the weapons I wanted.
I did all that stuff with Le Fluffie, Checksum Fix, and Hashblock Calculator (I am familiar with game modding so I'm pretty sure I followed the instructions correctly), but my changes don't reflect ingame. Can you not add things to the backpack, do I have to modify Hawke's current equipment?

How exactly do you add items like armor and weapons to the inventory?

Try it again but using an existing item and if it works then it must be that items can't be added.
Use an item that is crap so it won't matter that it is gone so you can keep your unique items.
Also to make things a little simpler (Which I am going to edit the OP in a little bit) you can use a program called Horizon
This (the free version too) will replace the need for USB XTAF Xplorer, wxPirs, Le Fluffie, and Hashblock (not Checksum Fixer)

I have edited the following:
-Swapped out CONcept, USB Xplorer, Le Fluffie and Hashblock for Horizon since it can do all the things those programs can do.
-Replaced old 360 DA2 Modding.rar with new one that has Horizon included.

This is great. But aren't we,as in the people useing XBL, going to get band if we use save editing.
No, the terms of use for XBL says "ruining another person's gaming experience" and since this is a single player game that isn't possible.
