For those of you trying to mod the Fortress armor set and Hawke's Key, don't bother. While you can mod and save no problem, the game won't recognize the save, giving you the same message as if it was corrupted.

This makes me pretty upset. The Fortress armor looks absolutely perfect on my FemHawke. Ah well...

Addendum: This was confirmed on the 360 version, using both First Blight and the GFF Editor.

I recently wrote a post in the PS3 forum asking about editing saves and if Sony would someday allow it or even create a save editing program themselves and my god the response I got it was as if I'd shot a baby. So it seems to me both Sony and a lot of PS gamers (at least those in the forum) have a dimmed view on it and frown upon it. =(

Really? Seems an odd response, but more fool them
Thanks to the save editor I believe quite a few people were able to correct the thumbs up attack speed error well before the patch; allowing them to enjoy the rest of the game without this issue - a solution that was unavailable to PS3 users unfortunately.

whenever i replace the savegame.das it keep saying that the file is either to small or too large
and whenever i load the game it says the save is damaged

I was having the same issue a while back.

One way I know to fix it is to delete the old save then replace it with the new one instead of doing an overwrite. See if that works at all.

Observation: I made a discovery today.

Remember when I said that you can't mod the items from the Legacy DLC, namely the Fortress armor and Hawke's Key? Well, I managed to find a loophole: if you use the GFF Editor, you can effectively change the armor type to something more malleable. So what I did was change the Blood Dragon Armor into the Fortress Armor, but left the rest unchanged (previous tweaking notwithstanding).

Long and short, the game is reading the armor as the Fortress set, but with the Blood Dragon set's stats. A little more tweaking to make sure Kalem's not too over- or underpowered and I'm set.

Hope this helps everyone else wondering about switching up armor. Enjoy.

The OP has links to various text docs that list IDs including faces IIRC.

I used to have a set of files that showed the weapon images with their IDs, and I can't find it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

but it doesnt seem to have the arishok's face id listed just the model id

if i remember right some caracter come as a set you cant take only 1 part of them

i just got it to work and i swapped orsino with anders, but after i left where i was, he has orsino's face with anders body...it dont look right is there anyway i can make him stay just as orsino, and his robe? i got everything else to work staff of violation on my hawke and on him, but it dont match very well lol

i think the problem with that is that you have to change anders's race from human to elf
change the race value to 2

1 - Dwarf
2 - Elf
3 - Human

i did, and forgive me for not saying that i put it to elf, but yes i did, i had everything correct, he was comepletly fine but when i left he had anders body and orsino's face but im going to work on it somemore because im trying to get it down pact but everytime i do i get that danged error message bah but thank you.

i really dont understand it, i try to fix a mistake, and every time i take it out of my 360, plug the usb back into my laptop,open up horizion, etc then when im done i replace the files then it gives me an error talking about space and blocks, i dont understand what im doing wrong...

ok, it was just anders model that did not agree on with orsino's.

don't use the same save you modded
make a different save and mod the new save
this usually fixes it

as for the orsino/anders problem it may probably have something to do with the alternate appearance
this happened to me as well but with isabela, see what i did was change her face to lady hawke and her model to grey warden mage, then when i load it fine, but after romancing her she kept changing back to her alternate outfit the one with the red black white colors everytime i leave an area even
still don't know a way around this but for the mean time i just keep modding her back to lady hawke face and grey warden mage model

lol thank you, i wanted to beat legacy before i did anything else, so im doing my new file now, but this time i plan on swapping my model with orsino. i did it with sebastion just out of wonder, and his worked just fine (btw looks great with a bow fits him shall i say) but ill see how it goes, thank God for the both romance options because if i HAVE to be a guy to get orsino's model to work at least ill be able to still romance anders. but thank you again, lol youve been a big help

I'm having some trouble modifying Isabella's approval rating. I'm trying to get her to be a rival, but regardless of what I change the APPROVAL_LEVEL to, it has no effect in the game. I've even tried changing it just using the FirstBlight tool, and nothing. Is there something I'm issing, like moving her out of the party of something?

Edit: I also tried to replace my armor textures with the Champion armor, but those changes didn't take either. I followed the instructions in the OP, but they're not always the clearest. For armor IDs, I just took the gen_im_arm_glv_hvy_champion.uti (Champion Warrior Gloves, I'm assuming) and put that in the TEMPLATERESREF field, but it had no effect. The save isn't corrupted, but nothing I edit with GFF seems to have any effect.

Can anyone help me out?

Have you had any mods take?  I know it sounds silly, but the most common cause for this type of issue is using "Save to Device in modio (or whichever one your're using), so thought it's best to check.
If you have had a mod take effect other than these, I'm not sure of the issue, but I'd be willing to look at the save for you if you'd like. Message me if you need me to.

this is quite possibly the best thing to happen to my rogue file. Being able to wear re-colored champion armor from another mod and have the dlc daggers disguised as dual finesses really enhanced my enjoyment of this game..

Oddly, one took that I hadn't realized; I changed Aveline's Approval level instead of Isabela's. Eventually I figured out how to properly use the PartyPoolList to identify which approval level I should be editing. I also finally got the proper changes to take after I saved the changes using the "Save As" option from the File dropdown and overwriting the old savegame.das, and I gave up trying to mess with my armor models since I'm halfway through Act 2 anyway.

One last question I have though, is if it would be possible to flag "Finding Nathaniel" using the GFF editor? In my Awakening save I didn't have him in my party when I killed the "Mother", and even though the epilogue said he survived, I guess the Import function didn't flag it. Never getting Varric's last armor upgrade is kind of bothering me, and I'd like to experience the quest at least once.
