Ok i am having extremely annoying problems with Firstblight.

it always corrupts the save despite me rehashing/resigning

to be exact it tells me its corrupt when i try to load in the game

the characcter is lvl 50 War and has Blood Mage and Spirit Healer added using GFF and it worked just fine.

however i go in and increase the number of Ability points by 1 using first blight and it wont load.

can anyone help?

-edit

Additonally wxPris no longer can open the un altered post GFF file that worked on my Xbox but no longer works after using First Blight.

IMPORTANT EDIT

FOUND A WORK AROUND THE PROBLEM I WAS HAVING

here is the exact senario

first i had a un edited save

then used a USB drive to transfer it to my computer

used all the steps for a GFF edit and returned it to the Xbox and it worked just fine.

HERE IS WHERE I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS

after the GFF edit and full Rehash/resign etc i was opening the save file with first blight and then making a simple or any edit using first blight.

UNDER THIS SITUATION CAUSED THE SAVE TO NOT LOAD ON THE XBOX. AFTER FULLY REHASHING AND RESIGNING AGAIN. IN ADDITION wxPris COULD NOT LOAD THE FILE EVEN BEFORE THE FIRST BLIGHT EDIT WHEN THE SAVE STILL WORKED

i managed a work around by SIMPLY RESAVING ON THE XBOX AND THEN RE-EXTRACTING THE SAVE TO MY PC BEFORE USING FIRST BLIGHT OR ANYTHING ELSE.

in summary, once you have completly done all the steps for GFF edit, resave on your Xbox with the changes before any additonal edits.

one more thing..

i have been getting the das.x being only 1 kb error bug have been able to get it to work using what i have just described.

Anti-Double post EDIT--

the following effect ID
9112 2398 (Special): Celestial

causes the following Ingame effect
Attribute requirements ignored

kind of pointless thing to edit in when you can simply remove the Attribute Requirements.
question is what would they possibly use this for normally?

EDIT: Hey, I just checked my save with First Blight. My attack speed is currently at 0.

I was wondering whether the 5% attack buff stands for 5 points, or 5% of your current base attack speed without the buff. If it's the latter, then shouldn't the deduction caused by the bug stop at 0 (since 5% of 0 = 0) just as in my case, instead of going into negative?

I don't know it might go up/down by an exact value or by a percentage, I have never ecnountered extreme slowness since I have always increased the attack speed but I think it is 5 points and the lowest it can go COULD be 0.

But I have increased to 85 not long ago and it is now at 75 (at least from the save I have on my computer)

Good to see you got it figured out.

With the Ignoring Attribute requirements, I don't know why they would have that since all the requirements are from the effects.

It could be a remnant from DAO since their requirements (except for requirements for certain characters/classes) were part of the weapon and Cailan's sword from Return to Ostagar had that effect while it wasn't actually listed in the effects.

Works perfectly, thank you so much for this <3

Is there a way to change a custom male Hawke's hairstyle to the default one, though? (I'm on 360)

Thanks for all the info. Now my FemHawke is dressed like Bethany, Aveline is wearing Meredeth's armor and Carver has King Alistair's armor! Lol I just wish we could have had all this power in Origins and ME2 for the Xbox.

I just know I'm going to feel like an idiot for even asking this question. I've figured out how to find the head morphs for your party members- but how do you find Hawke's, specifically? I'm wanting to swap a head from another save that I liked better. I think I'm in the right ballpark, but I don't want to tamper with the wrong file.

... not sure what I did wrong but I keep getting the game telling me the save is dmged.

1- I extracted it to a folder. I use USB Xtaf
2- I extracted use Horizon and Modio (tried both) all the files from the inside
3- Opended the save.das into the tool you provided.
4- Found the member who only had 48 approval, i set it to 95
5- Injected the save.das into modio and horizon, rehash resign.
6- Reinjected the save into the USB.

When I try to open it, the picture shows up... but after a while of stopping DA2 says the game file has been damaged.

So when injjecting it into modio or w/e I replace the das.x?

And how do I do the checksome fix? I might have missed it on the innitial page.

PS: if checksum is opening the blight editor then nvm. The blight editor dmgs my saves for some reason ever since I first set foot in the bone pit mine.

When using first blight you don't need to bother extracting Save.das and save.dasX, you just open up the actual save you pulled from the memory stick.

Checksome fix is a program that should be in with the programs downloaded from Page 1.  It should open up as a square box that says resign.  Click on it and then click Save.das, then save.dasX.

Then open your save game in modio/horizon (whatever your using) and replace the save.das in the original file with the modded save.das on your PC. Then click Rehash/Risgn in modio.

Close modio and then open Xbox 360 hash block calculator, then File->Open and open your modded save.

Once complete it should be ready to inject back onto your memory stick.

The reason it keeps saying it's damaged is that the xbox has detected that the sercurity on the save has been alterred and by using Checksome fix and hash block calculator you are essentially fixing these errors so the xbox has no idea they've been chsnged.

We did, at least for Origins, I never actually delved into ME2

'Savegame_PlayerChar' > 'Savegame_PlayerChar_Char' > 'Savegame_Player_Morph'

then right-click on the text box below and select "Export To File" and save it

then open up the save with the head you want to replace and go to the same section and right click and select "Import From File" and then select the one you saved and it should change over to what you had in the other save

ok I am confused here Dugg...

Can you give me a step bys tep on how to do this I am trying to do it myself since someone else is having the same problem, but you mention Save.das.x but then dont mention what to do it wit.

-"Click on it and then click Save.das, then save.dasX.  " this is what is confusing me.

Let me just type what I do to the letter and you correct me.

1- Extra from usb open it in blight editor bla bla bla

IF I reinject you tell me the xbox finds that the security has been messed with so even though it shows the picture in the game the game says its "dmged"

Then I open the dragon_age.  Big block appears saying  resign.

I press the said block and select the save, I open it.

Now this is where I get confused. when I open it, it stays there for 2 secs then opens again the window for me to select another save. Does that mean is that simple? just select the file, and the checksum is fixed? or something else?

ok ok... where is the hash block calculator?

if so you are my love... you might save me a whole bunch of headaches.

I downlaoded all three rar's. Are you talking about the executable file that says dragon_age.

And is a small window with a big block saying "resigh?"

"dragon_age" is the resigner I was on about.

Re-download the programs from this LINK of Sean's.

In that link above there should be five folders,  one of them is Dragon Age Checksum Fix (Resign Box) and one of the others is xbox 360 hash block calculator (use after modio before putting it back onto you memory stick).

So after you've extracted these folders and worked out which programs I'm on about go back to your save and have another try and let me know how it goes now you know which programs to use.

Will do my friend... right now waiting in class :P. Thanks this will probably save me a lot of headaches.

I never understood why. I could mod dozens of time before heading over to the bone pit mine. But as soon as I entered that mine blight editor would damage the file... never understood why. If I went to act 2 without going to the bone pit I could still mod the game. I went to act 3 without going to the mine... I could sitll mod. That mine is a PAIN!!!!! lol.

Still thanks I will update later today.

cheers

Can you, and how do you increase the number of Tactics slots for yourself and party members

i found Tactics stuff under "Savegame_Tactics_List" and its currently showing a total of 20 items.

if i add to that so its like a total of 21 or 30 will it break the game? will that work? atm i am not editing as i am waiting for all Act 1 companions to become avilabe normally via in game progress. tho my game currently has already been edited quite a few times....

Hmmm...Can't say I've tried it so the best advice I'd give whenever your modding outside of the norm is to make a back-up/dummy save, mod it, and try it out.

No, there isn't a face model overview yet. It depends whether you want a really nice Hawke face or just an NPC head.
If it's a nice looking Hawke then try HERE for insperation and messege people who have a nice face you like.

Off topic but there is a really good weapon thread with pictures HERE you guys might want to check out.

Would there be any way to edit relationship flags, etc using gff? I'm hoping I can find a work around for the "A New Path" final cutscene playing when I goto Merrill's house while I'm romancing her.

Also, thanks Hypertion for the post about FirstBlight corrupting saves. I was having the exact same issue, so I'm glad to know there is a way to avoid that.

So just to clarify:

The only possible way for an XBOX 360 player to get the Champion Armor in Act 1 would be to upload a save that has that already in it, then copy and paste that info in to the new save?

not exactly accurate, since in the Blight Editor items have similar ID's... I think they just mean "ID for all rings" or "this is the chest ID"

you need the tool given by RX most likely.

I'm sorry... I mean that if I'm using GFFeditor then I would have to first extract a save with the Champion Armor I want, then copy and paste that information into the save I ACTUALLY want the armor in.

EX: So I have a completed Mage playthough, but I wanna play again as a mage with a Champion Armor set and a Staff of Parlathan that improves with level up. Since I know how to do the staff, I just have to extract the final save from my first game, copy the information for the Champion Armor, and then paste it into the backpack/equipped armor section of my new save.... right?

Well I am not sure. Sometimes in modding is as simple as copy paste late information to an early game. Others is not. There might be checks that prevent you from using it before you are suppose to get it and that means you have to turn off those checks... but that might desynchronize the entire game. I dont know this is all conjecture I've never tried it myself.

Wait a bit to see if RX responds if not ask him directly in a message. Sry. Still new to DA modding. And getting off it a bit to play crysis 2

Ok, this is from my phone so I hope it makes sense. No you don't need 2 saves. You will need the Id for the armour you want, click on the link in Selphie's post. Then you will need to replace the armour Id in your save with the armour Id you want. See page one on how to do that. What you are doing is turning the skin on the crap armour your wearing into a different skin, you lose all the status effects on the champ armour but you look awesome at the start of the game. Ps will edit this post first chance I get.

I wonder if the post game storage chest is being fixed in that patch that's coming out. I was about to fix it using hte method shown here but figured I'd wait to see if they fix it.

Hard to see how that one got past the testers :x
