Ok, I've got a newb question on GFF editor. Is there any way to change a single setting that will have a blanket effect on all of the item usage restrictions on weapons/armor found throughout the game? For example, if I have a mage class char and I add the rogue class using GFF, will that enable my mage-rogue combo to equip both mage and rogue specific equipment?

Great tutorial--thanks a bunch!

Quick question, though--is there anyway to stop Hawke's head morphs from changing once they enter their home? I've tried to switch out Hawke's head several time, and it works for the bulk of the game--until I enter the home. Once I do that, it switches back to what I had. Any way to make it stop doing that?

Thanks again.

Apparently, the game reloads your original morph whenever you enter your home.
I don't think there's a way to prevent that, unfortunately.

I think so... Although,
if you change your class in Act 1, you'll get quest bugs and invisible
Bethany talking in cutscenes. There's more info in the Wiki.

Ok, I've been merrilly modding my 360 files for the past couple of weeks using Modio to extract, Firstblight to edit and Modio to rehash/resign & save back on the USB stick, but today it seems to have stopped working - every save I try to load comes up as damaged.
've tried rehashing/resigning with 360revolution and CONcept and only using Modio to extract/save but still no joy. If I save a file to PC sing Modio, don't edit it, then rehash/resign and put back onto USB it loads fine, I'm inclined to think Firstblight is the trouble.
I was only using this to keep on top of the Isabela bug, now I'm stuck on the way to the end of Act 2 with a crappy attack speed.

^^^^ to the above. Download the tools. Haven't tried it since my friend got da2 again and I dont have it anymore. But apparently blight eeditor might screw up your checksums. there is a tool in the package that you can download and will fix the checksums for you. Might want to try that.

I've downloaded the tools, but to be honest, now I'm a little confused about what to use and in exactly what order.

EDIT: I've heard Modio can be problematic, so I tried a program called Horizon, but that absolutely killed my laptop and was unusably slow for some reason.

I think after you used blight editor. open it in the dragon age check sum fix program. And thats it.

Is the one that when you open it is just a medium size block saying rehash.

No, yo can't just rn checksum fix after Firstblight - the checksum fix program requires you to extract the savegame.das files after editing it. It's just that after I do that, I have no clue how to insert the files I've run checksum fix on back into my save.

oh.... you use modio or horizon etc. You insert files back into the saves using those programs.

That's what I've been doing, but it's corrupting all of my saves all of a sudden.

Awesome, the game is totally unplayable and I've spent so long trying to fix the bug myself I'm completely turned off the game now.

oh you've been injecting the file... damn. Not sure man ask RX directly. Ask him for a detail instruction as to what to do. Have not tried this stuff myself since i started playing crysis 2. so I can't really help you from experience... all I am going with is from what I learned from Mass effect 2. sorry.

Still dont you have a backup?

oh them too.... damn. yeah coz blight editor always messes my saves. I always have isabella with me. Never leave her anywhere, so anytime I load she is always int he party.

RX told me the way to fix it is fixing check sums with that bbig block program but to be frank, I have not followed his advice yet, coz the same day I got crysis 2, and my attention passed from dragons to snapping squid necks... :P

Hmm, tried the checksum program, but you have to extract the .das files for that, and I can't seem to find anything that I can insert them back in with as I'm not too familiar with the software.
I'm sure Firstblight and not Modio is the culprit b/c rehashing/resigning a save file without modding loads on the xbox fine.
I wonder if it's something in the game that causes this as I could mod earlier saves fine, it all went ******-up when I got to late Act 2.

Just to clarify, is your save corrupted in game or in the editing programs? If you can load a save in dragon age, re-saving the file in game will fix it and make it editable again.

What he/she meeans is this.

Once is modified in the Blight Editor, it cannot be laoded in dragon age 2.
The save shows a picture of the place you saved, but when you try to load it says the game is damaged.

Now Dugg you mentioned something about save.das.x or w/e but I been trying right now and I dont quite understand. Let me write it out see if I did it right. Since you mentioned the "damage" is because the security something is found to be meddled with by the game so it says its dmged.

After modding the save in the blight editor. Open the dragon_age checksum fix thing.
the checksum fix is that big block that its only button is "resign".
When I press that big resign I get the option to open a save. I tell it to open a save but nothing happens. It stays there for a second or two then the open window... opens again and give sme the choice to open another one.

Is that it, does it mean that is how it works, no big screen or anything it just fixes it like that?

Could be a few things, want me to have a look at your save?

It doesn't do anything to let you know it's complete.

It'sjust a case of click resign, then double click save.das in the window
it opened for you, then the window will disapear then reapear, then
double click save.dasX.

Once the window is gone that's it, you'r all done.

Wait wait. See that is where I am confused When I press the big resign button. I get to see the actual saves. the 034123_1_u w/e they are called. I dont resign the files within the saves. I resign the entire save itself.

let me see if I did something dumb. A I NEVER take out the save.das.x or the save.das. so not sure why your mentioning it. Do i have to take them out?... actually I am more confused and probably alot dummer than I thought lol... mass effect prooved easy not sure why this is giving such trouble.

1- extract from USB
2-Open save in blight editor
3-Open  the (089712398_1_u) in modio
4- rehash and resign
5- reinject
6- DA2 says game is damaged

so I try

1- extract from USB
2-Open save in blight editor
3-Open  the (089712398_1_u) in modio
4- rehash and resign
5- Open dragon_age (resign block thing)
6- Press the resign block
7- Menu appears, I select the (0912398123_1_u or w/e number is I want)
8- I press open
9-Open the save save in modio, rehash resign
10- reinject.
11- game dmged

I am trully sure, your mentioning the save.das.x or the other one, but you make no mention as to when I had to use it, or when I took it out (or suppose to). Could you give me a quick step process like the one I tried to do above...

In all my time until now modding da2 I never have taken out the save.das.x out of the save itself using modio horizon etc. So I trully dont understand why your mentioning it.

Do I have to extract the Save.das.x OUT of the save. And use the dragon_age(resign block) to resign THAT "piece" of the save aka (save.das.x)... or do I use the resign block on the entire sve itself after i used it on blight editor?

Do i use modio afterwards? etc etc. Tutorial written by RX is very in depth as to how to modify things but not as to the road to get to that step... or how to go back to the USB drive afterwards. most likely he ment and the steps are there but are a bit confusing.

Sure, if you don't mind and there's some way I can send it to you. I've been trying a variety of programs, mostly recommended here and other forums and sod all seems to work. Tried rehashing/resigning with programs other than Modio to no avail. I can extract the .das and .das.x files after modding with firstblight and have run the checksum and hash block progs on them, but I'm kinda lost after that as to how to go about reinjecting the checksummed/hashblocked .das files back into my save file.
I'm wondering if anyone else is having late-game issues modding saves as it did work perfectly before. I even sent someone else instructions at the time and it worked for them.

Would anyone be able to give me a quick rundown on how to give myself the proper Champion armor set? I looked through the ID text file but I have no ideas which ones correspond to the Champion sets.

Would it be possible to give myself multiple Primeval runes as well?

Any help is very appreciated.

This all sounds pretty cool but I'm wondering if save editing can get you banned form XBOX Live??? Semi understandable if one started the game with a level 25 whatever but what about just doing minor armor and weapon swaps? Or enabling exaggerated Bethany to the whole game?? It would suck to get this going then having M$ ban me??

What can get you banned (temporarly, + having your gamerscore cleared) is unlocking too many achievements in too little time because of/thanks to save editing.
If you're just swapping armor/weapon, there's nothing to fear.

TO be honest and without sarcasm.

Can they?, yes.
Will They? No... Is hard for them to pin point who is modding and who is not, unless you suddenly jump 20k gamerscore in one day!!!.

It takes money, and time for them to ban you. And if you claim you didn't do it it will take more of their time throughly investigating the issue. So no they dont care really. As long as you keep the modding to single player game developers and console designers wont care. Why? because it doesn't hurt them, it doesn't take away money from their purchases.

Also it doesn't give you an infair advantage against anyone else, is single player after all. Nobody cares really, or mostly nobody does.

So as long as your modding doesn't dig into their pockets they wont care.

Letting people mod is a cheap way to have many more who will fix bugs, come up with ideas, and increase the "rep" and replay value" of the game. It all benefits them. However if someone makes an amazing mod... most likely they will cash in into. Implementing it in future games and they will decide whether or not to give credit to the original modder who came up with it.

So when it comes to single player modding, they have nothing to loose and everything to gain. From fixing bugs, to figuring out what we really want and through mods we express it, which makes it easier for them. Saves them developing time, testing time, and still charge us the same price.

So dont worry you wont get banned... this however does not extend to Jtaging your console that is a completely different issue. The issue is modding softward of the game... nobody will care.

This seems rather different from most of the talkity talk going on for the last few pages, but has anyone figured out the "ITEM_PROPERTY_POWERS" #s?  I can't find any real rhyme or reason to them thus far.  My first instinct was to divide the large # by the actual in-game # and then try multiplying the result to the level I wanted, but that ended up as a negative number when I put it in the editor.  So I'm at a loss.
