So, if someone can tell me how on earth Le Fluffie works, I'll give it another go, and hopefully I should be ok.

Sorry, I thought you had it.

All you need Le Fluffie to do is replace the .das & .das.x files within the save.
Open Le Fluffie.
Open the extracted save in Le Fluffie.  This will open a new window.
In this window, locate the contents tab.  Click on "+saves" and it will show you the component parts of the save.
Right click on the .das and replace with your editted file.  Same for .das.x.
Now close Le Fluffie, that's all you need it for.  The other stages are detailed in my post above.

EDIT: Spartas - I use Modio to extract the .das/.das.x and Le Fluffie to put them back together with modio to extract/save to device.  Any other way I've tried other than that laid out above gives me a corrupted file.

I am telling you... DA2 hates me or something lol. My steps... and they are a mix of what you explained and something I came up with :P

1- Open in modio, extract das, das.x, close the save after extracting
2-Open das in gff
3- mod w.e make sure to have the little save after each change of values, and then finalize with "save as" in the file menu
4-Use checksum (dragon_age) on both das, das.x
5- Open save again in modio, inject both das, das.x, rehash and resign
6- Use hash block on the entire thing, but dont run the Tool menu. Simply say "open save: and thats it.
7- reinject.

:P weird weird weird, is the onyl word I can come up with to explain all this :P

Ok, one more question -as per the OP, in gffeditor, the stats value ending in 42 is DEFINITELY attack speed on the 360 save also, yeah? I edited that, and my PC doesn't seem faster, but I was playing a rogue last so it could just be the contrast.

I haven't had the issue, but the stat_property_index for attack speed does appear to be 42, although I haven't seen a full list to confirm it.  In order to modify it you should change the base value.

Usually I go

1. Modio/Horizon to extract savegame.das and das.x
2. Mod the save with GFF and DAOsavegame
3. Dragon Age Checksum Fixer
4. Le Fluffie to replace savegame.das and das.x
5. Le Fluffie to fix the save (Security tab)
6. USBXTAFGUI or Modio to put the save back on the USB

---

Also, some of my fellow 360 users may find this of interest, I found a way to use Gibbed's Save generator to create an import file.

Quick Instructions
Open 2 windows of gff4editor
- load the save generated by Gibbed's program
- load the Xbox 360 save in the other window (DAO save)

gff4editor
-> SAVEGAME_PARTYLIST
    -> SAVEGAME_PLOT_MANAGER
        -> SAVEGAME_PLOT_LIST

right click "SAVEGAME_PLOT_LIST" for the generated save and select "copy"
click "SAVEGAME_PLOT_LIST" for the 360 save and press "Delete", then right click and paste.

Save the changes to the 360 save.

The save should now be able to import into DA2, with all the plot flags you selected.

Ok for the past week now I have been trying to edit my save but every time i open a save with checksum I get an unhandled exception saying "is in another process" even though the only program open is checksum has anyone else had this problem? Also I am attempting to resign the .das I have tried putting the file in the checksum folder and on the desktop. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Can I edit my DA2 (or DA1 epilogue) save to "repair" improper import attributes?

For instance, in DA 1, I killed Zavern. He appeared in DA2, and I completed the game. Can I edit my epilogue DA 2 save to make it so Zavern never appeared, and to fix Morrigan's information, which apparently did not transfer correctly.

Thank you.

Dude, thats not for xbox. Thats for PC. I heard about it before. Thats a save generator only for PC players.

Another problem even if it was for xbox. At the end it tells you "when you press finish this will be saved in your dragon age folder"

doesn't give you an option as to what folder... so yeah... you raise my hopes. lol

I gave a short explanation on how to use it for the 360 in my post ... I tested a few times already, it always worked for me.

As for the save location, it creates the folders for you in your documents folder (i think the program says this).

Documents -> Bioware -> Dragon Age -> Characters -> Generated_(name of character) -> saves -> slot_1 -> Barkspawn.das

damn... I dont understand how this works.

Is this save generator a save.das.x generator? or an actual save?

Do I extract the save.das and save.das.x from this "generated" save?....

I am sorry the instructions are a bit to broad for me.  Is this generated save the 0x98213476_1_u you see on the usb drive from an xbox game???.

PC saves are .das format, das.x is a checksum file for the Xbox. Xbox 360 saves are put into container files, for security reasons. That is why we need programs like Modio/Horizon/CONcept etc. to resign and rehash the saves.

You only need the .das file to load it into gff4editor. For the PC save, there is no need to extract anything. Just load the .das file that is created by Gibbed into GFF.

For the 360 DAO save you do the same steps as you would a DA2 save. Extract savegame.das and das.x using Modio/horizon and load it into GFF. After you are done modding use the Dragon Age checksum fixer and inject/replace the savegame.das and .das.x files with Le Fluffie.

*edit*
@hypothead do you have the newest version of gff4editor? Also, make sure you follow the steps in the OP on how to extract the save files for the 360.

OK let me see if I get it straight, i'ma going out right now so I'll prolly have reply before I get back :P.

I open the save created by the editor.

Open an xbox 360 save (still unsure which one?... finished just started, doesn't matter?)

Make the copy paste on the list you instructed from the save created by the editor, INTO the xbox 360 save.

This xbox 360 "save" is the save.das

After this I follow the normal steps for any other modding.

save the das.das

Checksum both the save.das and das.x

Inject them both into the save itself. Rehash and resign

Plug and play. Correct?

basically, yes. The save game for the 360 shouldn't matter where you are in the game, since you are deleting and replacing all the plot flags anyways. That being said, I have only tested on finished saves (post game).

*edit*
The name of the PC save made by Gibbed's program is called "Barkspawn.das". That is the file you load into gff4editor

yeah, when I first tried loading a 360 DAO save in gff4editor it didn't work either. Didn't try again until Spartas brought it up.

I think I read in the changelog that ver 5.4 of gff4editor fixed the problem of reading DAO 360 saves.

Just to clarify all of the above: this process is to give you a DAO save to import into DA2 with your selected history rather than having to play through again (and again).

What you are doing is creating a PC save containing the required history then transferring just the history (plot flags) to an Xbox DAO save, whether specifically created for this or otherwise.

Just thought I should state that explicitly.

Ok, I'm not 100% sure this is really working. I followed all the steps withh gffeditor etc, hurrah, no corrupt saves. But I edited my speed on a new save after getting suspicious that my char didn't speed up, reinserted the .das files, rehashed etc. Then before transferring the save to my 360, I opened it in Firstblight just to check, and behold, my speed was still at -20 :/ The changes I make in gffeditor don't seem to be 'sticking'.

EDIT: Ok, definitely not, made changes in gffeditor (modifier was at -27 speed) saved, closed gff, reopened gff, reopened file and stats had reverted. What am I doing wrong?

Ok, I edited my base stats, and set the modifier to 0 and that *seems* to be holding. I think I was just zeroing out the modifier before, though I've no idea why that change wouldn't stick. I'll get some playtime at some point and see how the speed feels.

I think I found a way to fix the romance flags. Some of you may know that there is a glitch where the game doesn't recognize who you romanced in DAO. For example, Leliana will act as if she was not in a romance with the Warden even if you did. It is believed that the cause of this is importing a save from a DLC (awakening, witch hunt). Those saves had removed the approval ratings of characters in DAO, which are necessary in DA2 to determine romances.

For romances to be recognized you had to have the flag set to true and the approval above 91.

(credit to Monochrome Wench for this the info)

To fix the romances, use gff4editor to set the approval rating for the character you romanced to 100.

gff4editor (load the Dragon Age 2 save)
-> 16024
    ->17603
        -> 1082, (Alistair Approval)
            -> 17601 1082
            -> 17602 100 (this is the approval value, enter 100)
        -> 1133, (Leliana Approval)
            -> 17601 1133
            -> 17602 100 (this is the approval value, enter 100)
        -> 1195, (Morrigan Approval)
            -> 17601 1195
            -> 17602 100 (this is the approval value, enter 100)
        -> 1350, (Zevran Approval)
            -> 17601 1350
            -> 17602 100 (this is the approval value, enter 100)

If you don't have the above values, click on 17603 and in the edit window select "Add". That will create a new entry with the value 0, 0. Now put the correct values in 17601 and 17602 fields.

Save the changes

This is probably not important to some, since it only changes small lines of dialogue, but there you go.

*edit* You guys got the Gibbed import saves to work right? Just checking.

if I have witched hunt, or I used your save generator. And had the warden followed morrigan through the eluvian. This doens't change much right?

I mean is not game braking or anything?

For DA2, it is nothing big to worry about (not game breaking). They barely even mention Morrigan anyways.

For those of you using Gibbed's Save Generator, you may have to edit the approval values for the romance to be recognized (if you care about that). I haven't played through DA2 with a Gibbed save yet, so i'm not entirely sure (been playing/messing with Origins).

*edit*
Anyone know where I can find a list/file that has all the plot variables that are in the save file for origins? I found all the ones that import into DA2, but would like to see all of them for just for Origins.

Dude. I just met something. I think the save generator is not complete enough.

When I passed awakenings on my own I let the nobles act first and I killed them all.

But with the save generator, I just started a bit into act one, And met this women who said she was sent by the warden commander to hunt down the nobles that escaped. She mentions "most of the nobles escaped" after amaranthine burned.

That right there is a flag missing. Between having a noble hostage, killing the noble leaders first or letting all the nobles attack you and kill em all.

Just throwing it out there.
