PC Tank Build?

Just wondering, is the option to play as a tank a viable/fun class to play? I've not been that impressed with the AI's ability to actually tank and so I thought I may try this with my next playthrough. With that being said, do you all have some suggestions on a good tanking build?
Thanks!

That will depend on the difficulty level you're going to play at and if you want a 2h tank or snb tank...
I will be playing on normal and would like to 2H as a tank if that's even possible compaired to the board + sword.

They really come into their own a little later....
In any case, if you aren't going Nightmare (probably even doable on Nightmare), 2h tanking is easily doable. Vanguard, Reaver, 2h tree... and watch things die... fast.

I've actually just finished Act 1 now.

I've not been impressed with the AI, period. Even with fiddling around ith the tactics, the AI seems to find inventive ways of getting my characters to commit suicide. The most annoying of which is when someone gets knocked down while drinking a potion, gets back up, and decides to return to combat instead of downing the damn potion.

You basically will have very low damage output, but if you time your taunts well, the enemies stick like glue.
It was very boring though, since running shield defense + bravery takes like half of your stamina and you have to spare for taunts for the waves of enemies.
Yesterday I respeced to the vanguard+zerk+reaver build and seems like much more fun for starters.

I would like to ask the same question on nightmare however, except my PC is a mage, so it's between Fenris, Carver og Aveline.

i built typical SnS warrior, with taunt, improved bravery etc. etc. and played up to beginning of act III (on hard, with dropping on some fights to casual).

It's because you don't use shield defense + bravery all the time, you can play SnS with vanguard+zerk+reaver aswell, the differences aren't that big really.

Killed the High Dragon on Nightmare without any problem using this spec http://biowarefans.c...bUWg1YmkRaSGnIx
Stat distribution was 35 Str and enough Will to reach 116 stamina with sustained an all remaining points go to Constitution. He had around 480HP IIRC.
This build was somewhere around 75% damage resistance which was enough to rely only on Devour + Insatiable for healing. An devour was an full heal and the High Dragon hits for 3-25 Damage. My attack chain was Cleave -> Scatter -> Assault -> Holy Smite -> Shield Bash and than Bolster/Second Wind until all attacks are ready for next chain.
Normal fights are much easier because the damage output from an complete chain is good enough to kill normal mobs. So I gathered all mobs and killed most of them with one chain. The killed mobs fillied the stamina bar to full and most remaining mobs including elites died on an second chain. Devour was also enough to heal all incoming damage. The 80%heal/40% stamina potion can speed up longer fights if you can affort them.
This build can go toe on toe with any enemy in the game, but you need the cash to buy some expensive items like the emporium breastplate and helm and other gear with damage resistance. Stack damage resistance like crazy, activate shield wall and you are nearly indestructible.
