Ohh =) I'm glad I found this tread. Always wondered if anyone was going to ask my little F!Hawke how the relationships are going. Have romanced Merrill with one Hawke and next up is Fenris. Looking forward to the patch =)

So far romanced Anders and Fenris on 2 separate playthroughs and only got the conversation for Anders.

Maaaan now I wanna know what I missed.

I swear to the Maker that I got this conversation with Fenris. Varric called Fenris a dangerous Tevinter slave and I used a star option to tell him it was over. (Which I did think was slightly odd because we had already gotten over it by that point.) And then I reloaded and told him that I wasn't turned off by danger or something like that. Am I seriously the only one?

Maybe it conflicts with the Isabella conversation? They are both in the Hanged Man.

Vedingtonii, could you look up your save and tell us which quests in act II have you done prior to that conversation to get it to trigger?

It does look like you are only one on this thread to get it to trigger for anyone other than Anders without console.
Did you speak with Isabella prior to it? Or ignored her?

I'd love to retrace the steps and do it.

I literally have a save before every character interaction (especially the ones re: Fenris) but I think I didn't have a chance to save before the Varric one because I wasn't expecting it. At least I have enough saves to try to replicate the conversation. I'll scan through them later if I can. For some weird reason I seem to recall this actually happening in Act 3, so I'll check those files, too.

I did have the Fenris-talk with Isabella, and that might have happened first, but she and I had an insanely low friendship at that point. No idea if it's related. The first time I broke out the console was well after the Varric conversation to boost her friendship enough to keep her.

Anders people: Did this conversation have an actual journal quest entry? That will make it easier to find.


Even if I can get it to happen again, though, the conversation is obviously bugged, but at least it might be buried somewhere deep down in there if you do a very, very, very specific sequence of events!

I romanced Fenris twice, I never got it either. Maybe someone would like to post the console commands on how to trigger it? I'd really like to see it.

I haven't...First playthrough with romanced Anders, got the convo from Varric and Izzy,....second playthrough with a romanced Fenris only got the convo from Izzy.

i didn't get the convo with anders OR Fenris, blast it! what the heck triggers it? I am a companion clicker, I should have got it at least once by accident ;(

I've romanced Fenris 2/3 times now, and never gotten a "Friendly Concern" from Varric. Only been confronted about by 'Bela infact. I too thought "Friendly Concern" was Anders exclusive.

I didn't get it on my first playthrough. I romanced Fenris. I got a talk from Isabela though (her non-dirty joke), and I'm pretty sure I talked to Isabela around the same time I talked about a bunch of stuff with Varric. Varric was definitely after her, though. Never got that conversation from him.

Yeah, I'd never heard of this. I tried using the console to view it. Varric starts out telling me about Merrill, then he randomly switches to talking about how I like the "angsty porcupine." WHAT!

Yeah. I'll try this again when the patch comes. Yikes.

I kind of got it bugged for me. Slept with Fenris, and when i came to talk to Varrick he was talking about an elf in first line of the conversation, and then later on talked about Isabela in same conversation (although i did not even dream about flirting with Isabela). Weird huh? Well he was still cute concernish nevertheless hihi.

PC, out of combined 6 playthroughs, various LIs with all conditions met, got the scene once with Anders, no one else.

I've only romanced Fenris and Anders thus far, and I've only gotten this scene for Anders. I thought it was Anders-exclusive at first since he seems a bit more tied into the main story than Fenris, so I'm happy (relatively speaking, of course) to hear it's a bug and not an omission. Now let's hope for a patch or a mod.

I've romanced Merril both friendly & rival on 2 separate playthroughs on the 360 and it doesn't trigger for me either. I had a similar kind of convo with Isabela, but nobody else says anything about it.

I romanced Isabela my first playthrough, and its like no one noticed at all. Nobody ever brought it up. Except Uncle Gamlen.

It was sad, I kept expecting to get a disapproving speech from Aveline or SOMEONE, but no.

Didn't get it with Merrill. On a side note, do console versions ever get patched, or just PC?

Fenris romance 2 times, no friendly concerns from Varric. I didn't even know that dialogue existed until I ran into this thread. PC version, btw.

Same here. I only got the friendly chat from Varrick about Anders. Nobody said a word about Fenris, except Isabela, and it was not friendly concern. I am on PC too.

Hope that this will be fixed in a patch =) I would really like to see them. So far I've only romanced Fenris and Merrill. Isabella spoke about Fenris and Anders about Merrill.

hmmm i cant seem to trigger it either, even doing the aforementioned quests/romance beforehand
