Combat is good and all but that doesn't make an RPG, maybe an action game. If we had DA:O + the combat of DA2 wouldn't it be better? Although DA:O is still below than BG2 it was still a better RPG.
Will Bioware become the new Action game company, or will they still be the beacon for RPG fans everywhere?
lets look at your list briefly.
character conversations are still there, its just more streamlined. there is less chance of you missing something this way, but i suppose if you liked stopping mid-quest and clicking the same conversation options as last time over again to hear the beautiful sound of that NPC voice, yeah thats gone.
no exploration? hmm, i guess my first time through kirkwall, the deep roads, and surrounding areas i wasnt really exploring.
generic loots? like getting a blank piece of paper from a chest in DAO? yeah, DAO was awesome like that.
copy/pasted areas? like every other game, including DAO.
simple questlines? yes because quests like go to point B were so very complicated in DAO.
i hate to just pick apart someones post like that, but honestly, i think some of you are reaching to find a reason to complain just for the sake of complaining.
