Zevran you little...

Today, the Champion of Kirkwall, who had just defeated a high dragon, got employed by another Antivian in disguise. The job was to fetch an elf from hiding. After fighting numerous montsters, all of which were rather deadly, the Champion emerges to meet with... ZEVRAN!! TA-DAH! The guy hasn't lost his life anymore than his most intriguing accent, despite being killed six years ago.
Gotta say it broke the immersion but I really couldn't help laughing. Have you guys met similar crossings with your imports? Oh, and I'm just out of that cave so I didn't read the rest of the forum to keep myself spoiler free, so please excuse me if this has been already brought up.

I don't get it either. killing a potencial companion will end all future quests, conversations, banters, and romance... I just don't get it... It's like you choose to Not play a big part of the game, which you paid for....

Role-playing. Zevran usually made it in my games, but for a couple Wardens it would not have made sense. Poor Zev.

I've done that in certain DAO playthroughs for RP and all that. I'm doing it in DA2 right now (throwing isabela to the wolves).

I spare him for the xp and than kill him in Denerim.
If he would've succeeded in killing you, Ferelden would've fallen to the darkspawn and Zevrand will be having a threesome at a ****house.
I see it as the most logical thing to do is kill him without metagaming

Especially if said companion is one of the two actually likeable ones

I tried to play a game breaking warden one time who didn't recruit anyone he wasn't forced to and ran off everyone else that he could, but I didn't have the heart to make it through to the end like that.

I agree that if you're role-playing your wardens to have different personalities, motivations, etc., then it can make perfect sense to kill off Zev. I only killed him once - my first run through the game, before I knew he'd become a companion if you spared him -lol-
As hard as roleplaying is in Origins, I'd even find it hard to turn Zev down in that situation, where I present as myself

Human Noble Female: Try to kill her, and fail: You die. Zevran NEVER lived past her.
Human Noble Male: Same, but I only did this once.
Human Mage: First time, and she hasn't yet made it to that point. Will likely spare him. unlikely to romance.
Elf Mage: (always Female) Spared, and often romanced if Alistairs hasn't started.
City Elf (always Female): Spared And Romanced. He will not love again after her death.
I hate the Dwarves of DA:O, and do not play them.
Likely, the HNF will start sparing him, but who knows.......
