Sure. Though some stuff was hard to make out because of the talking and the Bioware employee playing the demo was skipping most of the dialogue.
After Horizon Shepard gets a message at his terminal. This is actually voiced. It's Admiral Hackett who requests to talk to Shepard privately. Shep says he'll take it in his cabin. We go up there and see Shep's model ship display doubles as a viewscreen. Hackett appears in person and tells Shepard that a scientist Dr Kenson was arrested by Batarian for suspected terrorism. Kenson has critical info about a potential Reaper invasion that might prove the threat to the Council/Alliance. As a personal favor Hackett requests Shepard rescue her. And all that he go alone, no squadmates. Shepard agrees. Returning to the CIC will prompt Chambers to tell Shepard in a new bit of dialogue that Anderson (mentioning him by name) has just sent Shepard a private message. However the player choose not to check this and instead went right to the mission.
Shepard lands alone, and the Shuttle flies away. He infiltrates the Batarian prison fighting a few varren until coming across Kenson and freeing her. She says that the charges were correct. She was trying to destroy the Relay in that system with an asteroid but only because it might save the universe. Shepard and Kenson break out. Kenson is a temporary squadmate, with a Predator pistol as her only weapon and with Overload, Incinerate and Cryo Blast as her abilties. They head to a shuttle (not the Normandy's, an unmarked one) and return to Kenson's station.
This part was hard to make out but apprantly the relay in that system can be linked to any relay anywhere and that is how the Reapers plan to invade and why Kenson wanted it destroyed. They've estimated the time to Reaper arrival at just about 2 days from then, shown on a clock. They learned this when they recovered a Reaper artifact, called Object Rho. Kenson offers to take Shepard to it, and reveals that it's exposed in the middle the base. Shepard says leaving a Reaper artifact just lying around is dangerous, as it could indoctrinate people. Kenson says just look at the artifact and all will be made clear. Shepard does and gets a vision of tons of Reapers invading the Milky Way. Shepard snaps out of it to reveal Kenson and all her station works are holding him at gun point. Turns out they were in fact indoctrinated. They attack and guy playing was killed but didn't get a game over. Instead Shepard just passes out and in his vision we see Kenson and all the workers have yellow eyes like the Collector General.
And that's where the preview ended.
Reapers arriving in 2 days and you get such a huge and almost immediate choice? Given the fact that this will lead into the next game, I see the Relay surviving either way... this choice just truly seperating the Shepards willing to do what is necessary (like a Zulu or a Shan) from those that aren't, which is fine by me.InHarmsWay wrote...
So it looks like the Ultimate Sacrifice is destroying a mass relay which will kill a few hundred thousand Batarians. Also sounds like you won't have the choice of:
Paragon: Do not destroy relay
Renegade: Destroy relay
It looks like this is going to happen regardless of stance.
But if that choice is there... I'm a hardcore Paragon but I would destroy the relay anyways. To me it seems like the choice is, the system's entire population dies along with billions across the galaxy, or, the system dies giving the galaxy time to prepare.
It doesn't make sense to make this DLC have a decision at the end about the relay, because regardless of your choice, this system will die. The only difference is whether it is by the Reapers or you. Even then the blame cannot be placed solely on you. If the Council listened to you, this could have been avoided.
