My warden, because he was *mine*. DA:O gave you a lot of flexibility to shape your warden through the origin stories and game story. I felt like Hawke was Hawke, that even though I could somewhat shape his personality, he was largely predetermined and as a result I was playing someone else's character rather than my own. It was fine, I didn't mind, but since the question is about whether we loved the warden or Hawke more, I vote warden :)

Warden.

But Hawke is reasonably close.

Hawke. I was on the fence about the VA, but I have to say it made a big difference. I definitely felt more emotionally committed to Hawke than the Warden just because of his ability to emote. I also found the story more personal, so there were more opportunities to connect with my character. Origins had an epic story line, but that also meant the Warden was personally tied to some of the action. In DA2, there's a personal motivation for just about every quest, which means more chances to relate to the PC.

The warden was my character, I created her and chose her personality and allegiances. Hawke is a character Bioware made and they allow me to choose when she is pissy or not.

So... no contest, the warden. I don't want the warden back for DA3 though, leave that story where it was. I do want another player creation though.

The Warden, because I actually felt like I was in control of who/what that character was, from start to finish.

Hawke is an interesting enough character, but the immersion just wasn't there. Much like Shep in the ME series, I feel more like I'm watching somebody else's story, rather than making my own.

Both. Hawke, as Mage, can be an interesting diplomat.

Warden: If human Noble, is always queen (I only played as male once). Not many games allow this. Most others, if they survive, become Chancellor.

Hawke is a much more vivid character than my wardens.

They both have their strengths and weaknesses. By the end of both games I felt like my Warden and Hawke were their own distinct characters in my mind. The presentation of each character had it's pros and cons, so I can't really love one more than the other.

I can't really choose. First off, I have 3 finished Warden stories (so far!). Secondly, I tended to 'imprint' a personality of my choice onto the Warden (mostly cause the Warden didn't have a voice), while Hawke seemed more 'complete' (in spite of the fact that some times the faces I made for him/her never matched his/her voice).

I can't really choose. Although, the choices I made with Hawke will always be weighed against how "my" Warden would have done things, or the choices my Warden made herself.

Both are cool, and I would love to see both in future DA titles and/or DLCs.

Honestly, I felt little to nothing for my warden. I actually became attached to Hawke.

This. While I do like my Warden, I'm more inclined to favor a custom created character of my choosing with a voice actor as well. I felt like my Hawke was a character all her own, while my Warden, Hawke's cousin Pepper, fell a little short of that. :P  Being able to emote and Alex's reactions to situations (those snarky lines are hilarious) really fleshed out the character for me.

Hence, I like my Hawke better, and my Warden comes in second.

Warden has my vote. I felt like the lack of the wheel left it almost up to the user's imagination of tone of voice used by the warden, letting you literally create your own vision of character. in DA2 i felt like there were 3 personalities to choose from.

Hawke.
The Warden feels kind of bland in comparison now. Now I feel awkward playing DA:O/A because I miss the voice acting, companion interactions [in DA:2], and ... well, I can't quite pinpoint it. Despite the "epic" things the Warden can do, it's not nearly as cinematic as DA:2.
