Well it is quite so - but if (like Sophie) I had to make that choice... I would choose the Warden.

Hawke..I'm not sure why but something about this character got me. His drive, focus, and force of will just seems to be unstoppable. I connect with Hawke and his rise to power, just a great character.

Tough question, but I'd say I enjoyed playing as Hawke more.

I love hawke, mostly because the fact that he is voiced. I prefer to shape a character rather than be that character.

My Warden, DA sucks when you can't be a Dwarf.

The Warden because her game was actually good.

Warden for sure.
I felt really detached from Hawke for most of the game :x

The warden, easily. Hawke felt more like an NPC. He was an NPC that I liked a lot, though.

Love Hawke but don't like DA2 story. No opinion on Warden.

Hawke. I liked my character in DAO but hated being hoodwinked into being a warden.

Hawke by a yard and a mile.

Both. At the same time.

Hawke.
While in some respects DA2 was repetitions (reusing the same cave over and over again), storywise I think it was stronger. In DA:O it was a given that you'd become a Grey Warden and defeat the Blight; choices were all about the details of going about that. It was a standard Epic that cast you in the role of Hero.
And I came to despise the Grey Wardens as an institution. I would have preferred to remain untainted, even if it made the rest of the game harder. They were poisoning people, and killing them for threatening to reveal their secret initiation ceremony. I would have cheerfully made all of their secrets public at a big gathering like the Landsmeet, so they could no longer excuse murder as the price of secrecy.
DA2 is about making choices with consequences. While certain plot points are a given, your decisions make a difference throughout the game. This gives it more replayability than DA:O.

The only advantage DA2 has over DA:O in replayability is a shorter length.

Awwwwwwwwwww. Does that mean there will be no DA2 Mods coming from one of my top three DA Modders? (Namely you) That makes me sad.

Warden without question, it felt like the character was actually mine instead of a generic plot hero.

Snarky and Badass Shepard had me in stitches at times, Snarky and Mean Hawke just left me going 'it's the dude with the funny mustache in Arn, and...he's kind of boring!'
