1. I want to be able to loot ammo types. Ammo as a character skill is idiotic.
2. Miscellaneous weapon upgrades which increase damage, range, reduce recoil and overheat which don't require me to scan and probe copy paste ghost planet number 8947347.
3. Even if the default armor cannot be changed, I want to be able to loot upgrades and little devices (like the extra ammo pack or visor in ME2) to complement the outfit, for Shep and the squadmates.
How COULD they do loot?

I would like it to be...
Ammo types - ( Make it so that you can hold a reasonable number so that you can have a pretty good supply of them and if you run out of the one you want to use, it's your own fault for not keeping track. )
Weapon and Armour mods - ( Have each one only usable once but can be replaced by others if you wish. )
Armour parts - ( Extra bits for the N7 armour system, have it so that when you find a part anyone can use it reggardless of race. )
Maybe even have some Schematics - ( Have these very expensive to buy, but let you construct any of the above items on the Normandy without having to loot them or buy them from shops if you don't want to. Have them take a proportionally large amount of resources to build though. Resources could be a mixture of - money, Omnigel aquired from breaking down unwanted items and minerals mined on planets. )

FPS's often have enemies drop their weapons, so that could be included. You could pick up and use another enemy's gun, and it's possible that different enemies might have different configurations for their guns, especially elite enemies (think of how modern special forces operators have their weapons tailored to their specific interests).

More grenade options would be great too. I do love flashbang though.
