Gascard always dies for me.  I always let him live during "Prime Suspect" so I can kill him later.  Usually I bring along Varric so he can do the honors, because it's awesome.  If not, I'll usually spare him again during "All That Remains" so I can take Fenris along to visit him in Darktown afterwards.  Then Hawke kills him.  Hawke needs someone to blame, and she chooses Gascard.

I usually try and keep him for Fenris pain in Darktown, there's no way Hawke can let him walk... although my current hawke is very level headed and not one for revenge so maybe he'll make it (but I doubt it :D)

Magical fisting Gascard is the best part of the game. Let him live just for that, then MK.

I always kill him during Prime Suspect for the exp and the loot. Image IPB

To those who had Fenris interrogate Gascard - What does the mage reveal?

I let him live the first few times, telling him to get out of Kirkwall during Prime Suspect. And then I found out how much fun it is to kill him during Prime Suspect, so I do that instead. Sure, watching Varric plug him during All That Remains is satisfying, but I'd rather just kill him first.

I also let him live with friendly Hawke so that he can get fisted afterward (I especially enjoy it when romancing Fenris, since it's a nice bit that can seem a little like turning to him for help).

He always dies eventually, though.

JFarr74 - It's not necessarily a choice. You can get Gascard to help you fight Quentin AND kill him later.

Killed him on my first playthrough, too many things matched to just let him go. Kidnapping women and using them for blood magic (even if it was for their own good) after a Templar suspected him for being a serial killer? Not very wise.

I let him live during the first encounter so I can use him to chase after my mother during the daytime instead of waiting for nightfall. Then I let Varric deal with him because, its one of the best moments in the game.

(Edit: Doh! Just realized this was a 5 month old thread I previously replied to.)

I always let Gascard live. My Hawke is always a blood mage herself, and she would love to study necromancy too, so she had no reason to kill him. He helps me fight Quentin and I in turn let him live.

I usually let Varric shoot him in the throat, but I let him live in my last playthrough. I considered killing him later, but let it go. Bygones, and all that.

I killed him. The clothes of the murdered noble women that I found in a chest before encountering him told me that the women had been lured to his mansion and murdered.may I was wrong, but how did those get into his mansion? Was he framed?

I'd kill him just for having such a terrible name.

I killed him in my first playthrough. From my perspective (and unaffected by spoilers) there was a lot of evidence against him and I figured letting him live would come back to bite me. It did, in a way, that made me think I killed an innocent man. From what I'm seeing in skimming this thread, I see I was mostly justified.
Going to see how things play out in future run-throughs.

I didn't care whether he was guilty of the murders.  He was obviously a dangerous maniac in his own right and I wanted him dead even if every word that came out of his mouth was true.

100% of my Hawkes that have gotten through Prime Suspect to date have been anti-blood-magic to the core, so... he dies during Prime Suspect.

My Hawke wasn't that strongly opposed to blood magic although he considered dabbling in it himself to be too much of an apostate stereotype.  But he was strongly opposed to filling a house in the middle of the city with a small army of demons.

My Wardens were far worse about blood magic then my Canon Hawke... Who was a Blood Mage (sorry.)

My canon Hawke is a mage who blames blood mages for being one of the reasons people fear mages in the first place, and she's definitely Not Cool with the demon thing.  (That, and I think she was mad at Gascard for complaining to Meredith and making Aveline look like a fool.)
