I'm on my first playthrough now, and I have a question about using abilities. Let's say I'm in a fight, and I pause the action. I click on a spell, lets say blood mark. Sometimes after I click on it, the cursor becomes a crosshair, and I can aim that attack at a specific person. Other times, after I click on that same spell, the cursor is the standard sword, and if I try and click on an enemy, it changes my action to a regular attack.
Does that make sense? I was just wondering why it does this. Ideally I'd like it to have the crosshair everytime. Thanks.
Question about aiming

if you are attacking something and use a single target ability the game assumes you want to use it on your current target and doesnt give a crosshair.
aoe abilities generally give a crosshair regardless... well most spell like ones anyways, melee attacks dont.

so there is no way to override that and manually pick who you want to use the ability on?
