I'm starting this forum in regards to what boon you pick or what ending you get on origins and what it changed in Dragon age to ex: does choosing to free the mages in origins effect the story or get mentioned in DA2

Well, my upload didn't seem to play near any part on the game....
I saw a human being harrassed by a Dale, due to me curing the Werewolves. First thing I noticed from my old save... The Dalish talking about the Mirror and how they lost two warriors to it... (Dalish Origin Story). Alistar being king...
However that was about the extent of it. Hell, I had killed every party member (Except Shale, as at the time I did not have him). My ending party for battling the blight was Sten, Allister, Dog and Ogrhn. I refused Morrigan, who left, I killed both Lilliana and Wyn during the Andraste Ashs quest, Zeph when he tried to attack me (the first time). However Lillana comes back.... not sure how...
No mention of Connor, no mention of the Dalish gaining Lands near the Wilds, or anything of the sort. It was a vanilla DAO however, not a DAA save.

I remember someone mentioning the mages in Ferelden being free once.
Alistair never mentions it one way or another, he just says he has no control over them but that it's better in Ferelden.
Obviously the ending makes that boon a bit of a moot point. Hopefully someone can chime in on the other boons.

I think Alasdair is just mage friendly, my Warden was a mage but didn't request that the free circle boon.

If Alistair gave you the mage boon in Origins, the flag didn't set. Meredith is suppose to say something about it to King Alistair. If Anora gave you the boon, you can hear a rumor about it in the Hanged Man.

Yep. I had Alistair + Anora on the throne (Anora gave the boon in the epilogue) and Meredith yelled at Alistair for giving the mages autonomy.
There's also quite a few references to who's ruling Ferelden. Didn't notice anything about the Archdemon decision apart from if Alistair survived.

Leliana was only 'mostly' dead. She got better.

From what I understand the epilogue isn't canon. So from what I gather Leliana and the warden broke up at some point. Zevran and the warden broke up at some point. The mage boon never happened. The Dalish boon never happened or the clan didn't hear about it. Of course that one lady from the clan is there so who knows. But the timeline with the Dalish in DAO and DA2 is one massive cluster****. If your warden chose to go back to the clan he/she is missing and apparently went back to the wardens. In fact whatever origin you choose no matter what you say you're going to do you end up being the Warden Commander. Teagan goes back to being Bann even if Arl Eamon abducts in favor of him, I could go on.

thanks for the responses so far keep up the responses after all information i can find fact on is noted i will create and archive to keep it all in so no one else has to start a forum to figure this out the main reason i'm asking is i lost my HDD so i have no origins data so i want to go back and "tailor" so to speak my Dragon age 2 game to my intrest. it's intresting to see how rushed this game was even a source saying that Inon Zur (sp?) said the EA was trying to rusht the musical score being ready so they could hurry and release the game to capitalize on Dragon Age Origins Sucess but imho i'd rather wait 4 years if the game came out ready to play but i digress

I went through the Eluvian with Morrigan, but when I met Alistair, Teagan still says "the Hero of Ferelden should be back in Denerim by now." I also never saw Nathanial, even though he survived Awakening.

One major annoyance for me, is that I played all my DA:O stuff, from Origins to Awakening, to the DLc's as the same *female* character, which I imported from the end of WitchHunt.
All references to the Hero Of Ferelden are male in my DA2 game.
bar that, all I have seen so far - I havent gotten farther than trying to scrounge up 50 Gold - are just canonical references
Edit: Like "Apparently the pigeon population in Ferelden has taken a nosedive" ;-)

If you leave Nathanial at the keep and then save Amaranthine he will be flagged as dead, even if you fully upgraded the keep so everyone survived in the epilouge. Or at least thats what happened to me on my first playthorugh, i replayed the end of awakenings and took Nathanial with me on the final quest before doing a second DA2 run, then he showed up in Act 3 like he was supposed to.
