Just up to the part in this quest chain where you see Thrask and Grace in the Wounded Coast and they have bethany hostage. Any conversation option i try (whether to save bethany, tell them im gonna take them in or try side with them against merdith) leads to Grace saying she wants bethany to die, and then Thrask replying with "Stand Down Grace" and immediately after that it cuts straight out of dialogue.

If i talk to Thrask again it just starts that loop over :S.

I tried to stay the neutral character and not side with either Meredith or Orsimo, and tryed to leave the area and come back with a different party combination but it still happens .

Any ideas? The only thing i can think of is i had to use the console command earlier in act 1 because of the bug which made the mages corpse dissapear and made the quest unfinishable (forget what its called), but there has been no repercussions from this throughout the rest of the game.

i am having the issues during the first part of this quest that i am unable to loot any item when my companions tell me to check the bodies for any clues. any idea how to fix this? i am rather stuck since this is the only quest left in my logs...

Update.

Fixed the problem, no idea what happened but i exited the area, returned and a 3rd NPC had arrived, upon talking to him the others dissapeared and the quest was completeable.

No idea what happened, hope its some help to someone.

i tried that and even went to a new zone then went back again and still haven't had any luck.

I'm having the same problem here too, any update on a fix?

I have found what seems to be a workaround of sorts, if you kill the mob that drops the quest item last then it seems to work, was having this issue on two quests, tried leaving them to last and worked first time.
