I have no idea if it's even possible to implement via modding, but if it is doable then whoever does it will have my eternal gratitude. it's incredibly annoying having to reload a save and play through a section all over again just because the phone rang or I accidentally skipped the one line of dialogue that's actually different to the previous playthroughs

Yes, I would like this too. It is one feature Bioware should have never removed. Like Rayvioletta, I find myself constantly having to replay an entire scene when my play is interrupted, which it does on a frequent basis.
Please someone, or Bioware, it would be great to have this feature again.

I support this idea, I get a bit anxious and rushed although I try not to, my hand finds it's way towards the ESC button a lot and then I realize what I've done and I forget what I was supposed to do altogether. T_T

I'd also love to see this done, especially if it would include the little exchanges between companions as you're running around. I miss half of what they say because I don't hear'em start talking (since they tend to fall behind a bit as I'm running around) and can't see the dialog bubbles pop up with them behind me like that. =\\

I suspect companion banter would be even more difficult to implement, at least in a player made version, but hopefully somebody can figure it out if BioWare won't do it themselves
