First of all, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this since general discussions has a No Spoliers policy.

Anyway, I'm wandering at what part of the game will the DLCs take place, since Varric's interrogation is over and the Seeker already let him go, I'm assuming the DLCs would  take place in the present time, but wouldn't it be too much of a requirement to enjoy Dragon Age 2 unlike Origins' DLCs where you can live without playing Warden's Keep or Golems of Amgarrak.
