And when can my Warden Commander find him and give him a kick?

Subconsciously, Anders let Ser Pounce-a-Lot be taken because the poor kitten is safer out of the reach of Vengeance. What if Vengeance had decided that rats were being oppressed?

Well that's what Anders says.  He also says that the Warden thought it was making him too soft and Anders explains he gave it to a friend in Amaranthine.

If you import a save where Anders "dies", he will explain the Wardens think he is dead because he just left the Wardens after Vigil's Keep fell. So then what Warden make him get rid of his cat?

I always understand WardenS, not Warden. I mean... my Warden couldn't take tha cat from him. He's raising a kid with Morrigan. No time for stealing cats from Anders Posted Image

He might have left it there. Although, my first priority if I was getting out of a keep being destroyed by darkspawn would be to rescue my cat. Well, after my mp3 and a bottle of soda... but I believe I am getting off-topic.

That doesn't make sense. The Orlesian Warden is only there if the Hero of Ferelden died slaying the Archdemon. I think it would be other nameless (as of now) wardens who took Anders' precious cat.

I'm beginning to think that the wider Warden group has rather quickly tried to marginalise the power of the Warden-Commander in Ferelden for some reason. They send Loghain (who could be considered a powerful ally if you spared/befriended him) to Orlais of all places, bring a Templar into the order to guard Anders (something my Warden-Commander would not allow), take away his cat. They probably took away Sigrun's spyglass, the gits.

He says "the Wardens" plural at that part, and says they made him get rid of kitty because it made him "too soft". I don't think they make it clear who exactly is responsible, but I didn't think for a second that he meant my Hero of Ferelden (who was also my Warden Commander for Awakenings).

Hm... maybe the First Warden is... "jealous" of your warden? I mean he was a simple recruit, stopped the fifth blight in record time, got involved in politics, possibly LIVED after he slayed the archdemon and became Arl of Amaranthine. That's an enormous bunch of accomplishments in a very shot time.

I don't know who took the cat away, but the Warden-Commander ends up with him, as she has him in Golems and Witch Hunt.

That's my leading explanation as to who might have taken him. Another possibility would the Hero of Ferelden's successor as Warden-Commander of Ferelden.

I assumed that the warden was the "friend in Amaranthine." Like, the organization took the cat away (maybe that **** from the Anderfels that the First Warden sends to manage the finances?), so the Hero of Ferelden (or the Orlesian for you US folks) offered to keep Ser Pounce-a-Lot safe. By bringing into an ancient Dwarven thaig. With zombies.

Betcha that if the cat was still there, Anders wouldn't have gone all out on the Chantry.
Ergo, a plot hole ate the cat  :P

I doubt that, as the Warden-Commander would just march over to the anti-kitty Wardens and *****-slap them into submission.
And then force them all to have a cat companion by Warden law. At least.. mine would.

Ser Pounce-a-lot was a casualty of the powerful pro-Mabari lobby, who prior to the Blight had funneled thousands of gold into the Wardens in preparation for a massive advertising campaign. Afterwards, they exercised their influence in an effort to get said campaign back on track, but were shocked to discover that the Warden-Commander had recruited a cat lover. So as not to send mixed messages, they had one of their agents planted in the Wardens..."handle" the situation.

Calin was in on it, and Loghain discovered the plot immediately prior to Ostagar. The entire situation really came about as an attempt to break the pro-Mabari lobby's iron grip on Fereldan, and secure freedom and peace for cats all over Thedas.

I'm guessing Stroud. My Warden-Commander liked Anders as he was. He wasn't soft, he was a fighter. Plus that was one cool cat - how could it not be if it could revive an entire party? But there was clearly some history between Anders and Stroud, and not the fun kind. I'd wager that when the Warden-Commander left Vigil's Keep for whatever reason, Stroud got put in command by the First Warden and decided to run a very tight ship as opposed to my Warden's more 'we may be doomed to die, but let's enjoy the time we have' attitude.

I don't like Stroud, I must add. The way Alistair described the Wardens, they are an order of warriors, yes, but he also indicated that they were able to relax at times. And, given that Alistair learned of his 'sister', the way he portrayed it sounded like you could at least have some kind of relationship with family and outsiders. But Stroud... it takes weeks for you to even learn if your sibling survives, and you only get one letter from them in the next three years. They're not even allowed to visit.

Well what do you expect really. Snooty Orlesian.
Is it just me or is every Orlesian Warden so far a colossal ass?
Stroud is a hateful little jerk, and Riordan was a twit who doesn't volunteer important information until it's too late, and earns a Darwin Award for his death.

David Gaider took away Sir Pounce-A-Lot.

I kinda figured that was obvious.

I mean, after all, DA2 starts with the destruction of Lothering, which is in the beginning of DAO. DAO lasts a year. Hawke spends a year working before getting into Kirkwall. Once in, Hawke meets Anders. Anders, who was a companion in DAA. Which took place 6 months after Origins. Which means it was taking place during the time Hawke meets Anders. Which means Anders shouldn't be there yet. Which means he must have left in a real hurry and taken a very fast ship. Which left no time to write cat-related dialogue.

Alternatively, Mike Laidlaw did it.

After all, Anders had a cat given to him by the Warden Commander, who he met in DAA. Which took place 6 months after DAO. Which lasted a year. Which is how long Hawke spends working before getting into Kirkwall. Which is when Hawke meets Anders. Who should still have been a Vigil's Keep. With his cat. Unless he left right after the events of Awakening. When the only Wardens in Ferelden were the Warden Commander, Ohgren, Velanna, Sigrun, Nathaniel and Anders (depending on who you recruited/killed, of course). Which means one of them took his cat. Probably because they didn't want to make cat animations for DA2.
