Dear god, where are the stall doors? And is it true that they use three seashells?

They're there because fans complained in ME1 that the SR1 had no bathrooms and they wanted to know where the crew was defecating.

So, Bioware added bathrooms to shut them up.

And now we have 2 groups. The ones who love the bathrooms, and those who hate it. Hurray.

The bathrooms are a running sci-fi joke. As for the stall doors and three seashells, I was in a bar bathroom last night with no stall doors and someone had missed the urinal and doused the toilet paper so I'd gladly have take three seashells.

All these toilet-haters are getting on my nerves! Can't you people see that the restrooms are absolutely integral to the immersion of Mass Effect universe?!
In fact, Bioware needs to add bathrooms to every public place you go in ME3! I will not be silenced until my toilet-based immersion is satisfied! Fight for the Lavatory!

The point of having bathrooms on the SR-2? Are you serious, it's kinda obvious isn't it?
They need to add another one in the CIC though, so Joker doesn't have to spend an hour limping downstairs.

And vice-versa. That was a sort of fun joke but otherwise they serve no real purpose.

I went into these bathrooms once on my first playthrough, heard EDI make the "male bathroom is over there" joke and never went in again. I have beaten ME2 dozens of times. Definitely a waste of space.

As much as I like verisimilitude, there is no need for that kind of space consumption on the Normandy. I also don't believe the entire crew sleeps in 8 sleepers, but I don't need to see rows an additional 20 sleepers just to enjoy the game.

The bathrooms are NOT a waste of space. Fans wanted them because it added believability! So what, people don't drop a deuce or take showers in the future?!? Did you notice the bunks in the crew quarters, scyphozoa? Pretty sure that's where the crew sleeps in addition to the 8 sleepers you reference. For me, I liked the SR2 better than the SR1 based mainly upon these accoutrements that made the ship more believable.

Having spent 7 years on a submarine in the Navy, I can assure you that stall doors are pretty moot when you live in that confined a space for that amount of time with people. There is no such thing as privacy on a submarine, and considering the Normandy is 1/2 the size of my sub, I can't imagine they have much either.

If being worried about seeing someone taking a ****** or ****ting is going to eat at you, then you probably shouldn't be on a spaceship with a crew of dozens and floorspace to accommodate 1/10 of that.

What is the SSV Berlin? Are you making that up? A cruiser is WAY too big and not stealthy. I think the space that it would take to design the interior of a cruiser could be better put to use on a new planetary location. The SR2 is just fine by me. All I want is to be able to change colors and logos similar to what we can do with the N7 armor.

I think the question is why go to the trouble of not only creating separate bathrooms, plus a bathroom for Shepard, setting up an alert from EDI to remind you of which bathroom you're in, but then leave both bathrooms identical? If I remember correctly, the women's bathroom has urinals just like the men's. Odd.

well the universe is full of aliens

imagine going to an asari resturant, AWKWARD

so maybe some female aliens need a urinals

what bothers me is the privacy issue, I mean wtf if someone wants to take a dump and ur in the shower and someone is walking in near the bath and the door opens, I mean DANG

and what if some of the female/male crew are gay... ok forget that, (too much porn :()

It's unfinished content from ME2.

I've started a petition to complete that content in ME3.

Cruisers PWN everything in space?!?  You mean like the battle of the citadel?  Do they PWN everything in space by blowing up on them?  I'll take my nimble, stealthy frigate that blows up collector ships, thanks. ;)
