I'd like to remove the "cooldown" timer for picking pockets. Can anybody
suggest how to do that? I can't find any feat for such a thing, and the
toolset has no documentation. I found skills.2da, but it has no
indication of where the timer is either. If I can't turn off the timer,
I'd like to set it to 1 second instead of 6-7.
I'm playing the OC alone in single-player mode. I'm aware of why there
is a "cooldown" timer for pick-pocket, and it makes sense for a
multiplayer game, but it seems to serve no purpose other than to waste
my time in the single-player game. I'd rather get on with the game
instead of standing around, hitting "sleight of hand", waiting, then hitting
it again until i've finished looting the merchants. Add the save
scrumming and it takes over an hour to rob everyone in Fort Locke.
Unrealistic, maybe, but waiting for the "cooldown" timer is BORING. Hence, my desire to remove pointless tedium and have some fun.

I looked for the cooldown timer for PP, and even asked a couple months ago. I wanted to increase the cooldown to force me to just walk away after the first attempt (but i see your point). It seems to be hard-coded .. sry.

it is hardcoded indeed just like the stealth cool-down, there is a xp_pickpocket hook for nwnx but that is not for single player ;(

Probably the best way would be to create a custom feat that checks pickpocket ranks and does the work for you. You can give this feat to the PC automatically, through console command, etc. Then you can drag this feat to your quickbar and it won't have a cooldown, since you're not using the skill, you're just checking it.
If this is something that interests you, I'm sure someone could help you script it if you need such help. There could be questions about how to figure out DCs and stuff, and what kind of stuff could be stolen, but I'm sure those difficulties could be surmounted.
Alternatively, I know 0100010 has been working on new implementation for most of the active skills through GUI-based solutions. I don't know where he is on that at this point, but it's really just another way to get at skills in a way that isn't hard-coded.

It seems I had back luck in learning some modding. I thought I picked two simple changes. Eliminate or reduce the 'cooldown" timer for slight of hand, and give the Arcane Archer spell progression.
The latter was VERY simple to do in NWN1. I haven't tried the former in NWN1 because there aren't enough people to pick pocket repeatedly, although there are a few like that one rabble rousing girl in the Blacklake district that wants you to get the key from the wizard by any means necessary.
Fortunately my first choice was easy. Those of you who remember Baldur's Gate will probably understand. I created something akin to the ease-of-use mod (superseded by G3 tweakpack) , allowing me to stack more arrows, potions, scrolls, etc.
