The crappy colour scheme alone is enough to throw a man into siezures....the poor search capabilities and cramped framelike style is giving me flashbacks to early 90's geocities sites.
Awful move.

No Search atm.
No Dev post button
The damn web layout was made for 1024x768 and the grey borders do not scale back if you have a high resolution screen <-- terrible!!
No small icons for threads either.
Seriously bioware go install vBulletin and stop trying to reinvent the wheel.

You're right Fester, the complete lack of a functioning search does fit in perfectly with those early 1990 websites.

I've got a 42'' on 1920... Imagine how these seas of grey feel. I could litteraly fit my whole head in :-/Valaryyn wrote...
yeah, I have almost a foot of wasted screen space on my 23'' monitor running on high resolution.
Less than a third of the screen is actually devoted to text, the rest is eaten by the atrocious layout and huge icons.
I spent quite a bit of time on the previous forums, I doubt I'll bother with these ones. They are sickening.

In the mean while i have one question, will Bioware keep this "SocialNetwork" just for Dragon Age - Origins or do they plan to transfer their other titles (ME, Kotor, JE etc..) to this format as well?

- Forum search has been re-enabled for over a week.
- managing characters is expected to be re-enabled later this week, once the backend server issues at EA are resolved
- 95% of the character updating issues we have investigated were due to the game not having uploaded the data - nothing to do with the website. Workarounds have been posted elsewhere.
- 70% of the users of this site are running with < 1500px wide displays, and the layout is optimised for that group.
- this forum software was purchased - BioWare is not reinventing the wheel, we are avoiding doing so.

Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy. I would however like to point out several items:Overall, this site is a work-in-progress, and BioWare is definitely listening to any and all feedback. Thigns are being fixed/improved as fast as humanly possible.

[*]I had no idea search was re-enabled. It was broken for long enough that I haven't tried it.
[*]My characters still don't update. The workarounds don't seem to work for me, but my non-existant (to this website) toons are getting achievments that show up on this site.
[*]You guys got ripped off.

No offense but did BioWare decide to limit the screen width of Dragon Age because 70% of the PC players had screens less than 1500px in size? Of course they didn't, that would just be stupid, right? The same logic applies here. It's simple for anyone with a bit of web knowledge to make a site based on percentages rather than fixed-width pixel measurements. It's half arsed to go fixed width.
If you honestly paid a third party for this software (my god say it isn't so) then you should get them to bring it in to the mid-1990's atleast and make it more accommodating for people of all screen sizes. It's just plain silly like this.

The 1500px thing is the wrong perspective.
I am not advocating for a larger fixed width website, I am advocating for a website with a style layout that scales with the browser resolution. vBulletin and MANY websites do this, but the theme on the bioware social site does not.
This is a bug or poor css/style design and should be easily fixable.
Please reference my screenshot in my first post for what I am talking about.
