You're missing the point. Downloading all that DLC to your console takes a while, and if your console happens to die (and they all do sooner or later), you will have to download everything again, wasting yet more time when you could simply install everything from a disc.

I've done the math actually, $10 for 800 Bioware points, $20 1600. Including Arrival that's (560 * 3 = 1680) + 800 = 2480 + (160 * 5 = 800) = 3280 and since you can't buy Bioware points in an increment smaller than 800 points and that total comes to a measly 80 points, one measly dollar's worth of points, you have to buy a grand total of $50 worth of points and have 720 points left to rot because there's no other DLC to buy. And that's not even taking into account the Cerberus Network if you happen to have bought a used copy of the game, then you need to tack on another $10 bringing your total to $60 total for DLC alone, and there are certain DLC that are currently not available for purchase unless you're a PS3 owner such as the Dr. Pepper promotional items, Collector items, and Blood Dragon armour that may be included, which is great for those of us who got the game after the promotion ended, can't afford to pay out the extortionist rates for the Collector's Edition on eBay, and are not willing to pay for Dragon Age just for the DLC.
Furthermore having the DLC on a disk is simply convenient. Hard drive space is a valuable commodity after all. Plus there are people like me who would rather have something that we can actually hold in our grubby little paws when we purchase something as opposed to just data.

This.
Plus as previously mentioned the Xbox 360 and the PC are being left out of TWO armor DLCs that are at the moment PS3 exclusive. It'd be nice to actually get those, plus all the other DLC content in one package.

This may be a regional thing, but last time I checked you could buy 400 Bioware points or even 560 Bioware points :-

As for whether there will be an Ultimate Edition, I am not 100% sure there will be one for various reasons. Firstly there is the technical issues of there just not being enough storage space, Mass Effect 2 already comes on 2 discs. If you add the size of all the DLC including Arrival it could easily add a third disc to the package and that will have consequences cost wise not to mention how to you handle disc swapping.
Secondly whilst this is the last story based DLC it does not mean it is the last DLC I can easily see Bioware trying to squeeze out at least 2 more appearance packs. They are easy to do and are basically money for old rope.
Thirdly they are running out of time with Mass Effect 3 due to hit this year I can't see them wanting to release an Ultimate Edition of ME 2 which may compete with sales of ME 3.

There's no option that I've found on the site to buy Bioware points directly from Bioware.
I gave you the direct link in my last post

Alternative go to forum menu on the left hand side (under your avatar picture), go to profile and you should see "Add Bioware Points", here is a screenshot :-

Maybe using a similar approach to Dragon Age Ultimate edition (console versions install to hard drive like dlc and ultimate game discs recognise them as okay [unplayable with original discs preventing greedy people from getting the extra content free])
If there was an X360 version with Shadowbroker, Arrival,Kasumi,Zaeed, etc [I don't care about the weapons packs] which could be accessed without the internet connection I would buy it
(I already got a second copy of mass effect for bring down the sky and for dragon age I got the collector's edition, awakening stand-alone, and ultimate)

1. Dont want to download them all again.
2. Convenient to have all on one disk.
Im sorry but these are DUMB DUMB DUMB reasons to spend another $40 -$60 to get the same content you already own.
If you are seriously worried about your 360 dying and then having to redownload all of the content a MUCH better idea would be to get an 8 or 16 GB USB and just copy the content on that. Yes you can do it. I have done it so I could play on my brothers 360.
There are so many other great games out there to be blowing money on a 2nd copy of Mass Effect 2.

Yes, I could copy the content to a USB but I still prefer an original game disc. I also prefer compact discs over digital music downloads, and books in their physical form instead of e-books. That's just the way it is. <shrugs>
