Where would you like to see Dragon Age III take place?

It's seems tradition for the Dragon Age series to change settings with each game.  Dragon Age:Origins takes place in Ferelden, Dragon Age Origins:Awakening takes place in Amaranthine(also part of Ferelden but not seen in Origins) while Dragon Age II takes place in The Free Marches.

So it seems likely we'll see a new setting in Dragon Age III.  With that in mind, where would you like the game to take place?

I'd honestly like to see it take place in the Anderfels.

The Dragon Age codex describes the Anderfels of being the poorest nation in the world and whose people have become extremely hardened as a result of the incredibly harsh living conditions as brought on by the two blights the nation has suffered through.  Even many insect species cannot survive there.
Most importantly, The Anderfels is the home of Weisshaupt Fortress, the main headquarters of the Grey Wardens which makes it a great setting if Dragon Age III intends to make The Grey Wardens the central protagonists of the game's plot again.

Also, we really haven't been exposed to much of anything from the Anderfels.  Based on the German sounding names of it's cities and locations we can assume that the nation is a fantasy interpretation of Germany's medieval history much like Oralais is that of France's.  Anders is ethnically Anderfellan but he was raised in Ferelden so he doesn't have a German accent but aside from a few other references we haven't seen much of the Anderfels.

What we do know is that it is the birthplace of The Grey Wardens so there is no doubt lots of rich, unexplored lore to be unearthed here.

I think the fact that the land is so ravaged and destroyed could also provide for a very dark setting.  There could be forests filled with nothing but dead, blighted trees, deserted ghost towns, and bone graveyards come to mind.

Ferelden.

In all seriousness, assuming the game blows me away, the Tevinter Imperium.

Edit: After DA2 I hate mages, and being a Templar there would be AWESOME.

Tevinter.
Anywhere but Orlais really, unless they get rid of VO all together.

I could imagine the Black Divine being the major antagonist in Dragon Age III if it takes place in the Tevinter Imperium.

Also, I'm not sure of this but I think they also speak Arcanum which is a dialect of English in Tevinter so there wouldn't be that suspension of disbelief of having to hear everyone just speak English with a French accent which would not doubt be the case if the game took place in Orlais.

I'd like to have a full underground adventure.
If not, either Orlais or Qunari isles.

Orlais, but only 'cause that's where Sandal will be. ENCHANTMENT!

Hummmm, I'm almost tempted to try playing a Qunari and thus I'd suggest somewhere like Par Vollen. However, I also love mages -- and Qunari leash their mages...to say the least.

Perhaps a break for us mage-loves and chantry/templar lothers...

Consider this a vote for the Tivinter Imperium for the best of both worlds...if anyone's familiar with the worlds lore. I just really need the mage improvements for that game I popped in my first post here!

Yeah I would like to see how Sandal gets along in Orlais. Forget the Warden or Champion, everyone now loves Sandal lol.

Seriously...I just need to got to Tivinter so that mage pesicution is lost. It's par for the cause of what spoils the gameplay for many folks...I mean seriously, who wants to suffer the Templars when the mages can rule?

I may have gained for autonomy for the mages in Origins...but I'm still waiting to see if this have any impacts for DA2. I'll be seriously ticked if it doesn't!

1. Orlais.  Why?  Because mutliple DAO epilogues put Morrigan there at some point.  (Yeah, I know Witch Hunt's endings.  But...well, imagine the epilogues as happening in the future after other events they don't talk about...as opposed to right after the end of Origins and a lot of possibilities open up that keep those epilogues in play.)  And various other story threads point there that would be cool to follow.

2. Tevinter.  Why?  Because it along with Orlais seem to be the most talked about regions so far.

3. Nevarra.  Why?  Seems like some a loretastic place when it comes to cults and dragons.

My first choice would be Orlais. Other than that, maybe the Tevinter Imperium. However, assuming they want to keep this franchise going, Orlais would probably be the better choice to venture off to first, instead of the Imperium.

It sounds like they want it to happen in Orlais by some dialogue, but I can't understand the accent many of the Orlesians have. If it's crisp like Lelianna's then that would be fine. I'd be lost if there was mush-mouth like DA2 had.

It would be interesting if you started off as a member of the queen's court before things start going downhill...

It would also be interesting to play an elf in Tevinter after the events of DA2.

In multiple places. Orlais , Tevinter etc. Why would it have to be just 1?

Hm, why not both orlais and the tevinter imperium?
If it carries on the plot-line from DAII the issues facing the chantry would mean that both Orlais and Tevinter would be relevant. The protagonists could traipse around Thedas on quests of truly epic scope - or even maybe having one act in one place and the next in another (if they decide to break it up into a story-like format again)

I think that if they bothered to design the cities/maps properly, they could do an amazing contrast/juxtapostitioning of cultures and ideologies - from where the Chantry rules to where magisters hold sway. There could even be some giant war between the two countries, allowing an element of choice in which side to help out

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for having Orlais and the Imperium as the backdrop of the journey in the next game! I'm just not going to get my hopes up, haha.

The next Dragon Age game will take place in Orlais. DA isn't DA without Sandal and his "enchantment" and they're heading to the imperial court in Orlais.

Yep, It's going to be Orlais. There are lot's of little hints. The Nexus Golem says some interesting stuff too about Orlais.

Orlais is really a great setting. It's the biggest most advanced nation in Thedas. There is a lot they could do. An Entire game in Val Royoux would've been awesome. Kirkwall not so much :P

Personally I'm hoping that it will focus on the Tevinter/Qunari war, but after the ending of DA2, I'm not getting my hopes up :P
