I'd like to see the DA3 protagonist born into Tevinter slavery - either currently escaped as the game opens or perhaps the player will escape during the game's tutorial - which would allow for BioWare to bring back racial selection but also keep the voiced protagonist. A human, elf, or dwarf born into slavery would all have the same accent, though I think there would still need to be some care chosen to represent three races in one voice.
This would bring back something many players loved about DAO while keeping something many players love about DA2, offer an entirely new setting, and provide bits of both types of stories: a slave could very well both rise to power in a very personalized story as well as defeat an 'ancient evil' or some similar grandiose storyline.

The magisters face a new exalted march from the south whilst fighting the qunari for control of seheron. meanwhile to the east in rivain religious tension rages as the puritanical new par-vollen trained elven ariqun attempts to bring the region back within the fold.
Would like to see more of the conflict between imperial/orlais chantry, the unique and interesting situation in rivain, and of course to influence which side prevails and see how the region is transformed as a result.

Other than that, Orlais sounds like a very likely candidate, and so does Tevinter. Orlais even more so as Bodahn and Sandal are going to Val Royeaux, which is more than just a hint of where we are headed next. Orlais is the homebase for the Andrastian Chantry, and if **** is really hitting the fan Orlais will probably be one of the Chantry strongholds in an otherwise broken world.

Morrigan and the Grey Warden will have a child together, a girl, which she names after herself. The Grey Warden dies of darkspawn corruption several years later, and realizing the time loop that is occurring, Morrigan changes her name to Flemeth as the events prior to DA:O start to get underway.
...Hey, i can dream, right?

My money's on Orlais, where the Champion of Kirkwall and the Grey Warden will meet up. Finding Morrigan will be part of the main quest, and at the very end Morrigan will end up falling through another portal which will take them back in time.

Outside of the DA2's design staff studio.
On a serious note, Tevinter or Seheron/Par Vollen archipeligo area. The former simply because I believe a story surrounding the Black Circle, magisters, legal slaves, the architecture, etc would lend itself for good creative fodder. The latter because it would, hopefully, open up the option to be a qunari. Plus beach/tropical settings are always welcome in my book.

It's seems tradition for the Dragon Age series to change settings with each game. Dragon Age:Origins takes place in Ferelden, Dragon Age Origins:Awakening takes place in Amaranthine(also part of Ferelden but not seen in Origins) while Dragon Age II takes place in The Free Marches.
So it seems likely we'll see a new setting in Dragon Age III. With that in mind, where would you like the game to take place?
I'd honestly like to see it take place in the Anderfels.
The Dragon Age codex describes the Anderfels of being the poorest nation in the world and whose people have become extremely hardened as a result of the incredibly harsh living conditions as brought on by the two blights the nation has suffered through. Even many insect species cannot survive there.
Most importantly, The Anderfels is the home of Weisshaupt Fortress, the main headquarters of the Grey Wardens which makes it a great setting if Dragon Age III intends to make The Grey Wardens the central protagonists of the game's plot again.
Also, we really haven't been exposed to much of anything from the Anderfels. Based on the German sounding names of it's cities and locations we can assume that the nation is a fantasy interpretation of Germany's medieval history much like Oralais is that of France's. Anders is ethnically Anderfellan but he was raised in Ferelden so he doesn't have a German accent but aside from a few other references we haven't seen much of the Anderfels.
What we do know is that it is the birthplace of The Grey Wardens so there is no doubt lots of rich, unexplored lore to be unearthed here.
I think the fact that the land is so ravaged and destroyed could also provide for a very dark setting. There could be forests filled with nothing but dead, blighted trees, deserted ghost towns, and bone graveyards come to mind.
"The Anderfels are a land of shocking extremes. It is the most
desolate place in all the world, for two Blights have left great
expanses of the steppes so completely devoid of life that corpses cannot
even decay there--no insect or grub will ever reach them.
--From Codex entry: The Anderfels"
Yeah.. the Anderfels doesn't seem like a cool place to base a game around. There's..nothing.

Under the auspices of another publisher and a thoroughly repopulated Bioware team.
Unfortunately, if you've missed it, EA owns Bioware since some years. But EA often makes really funny decisions. And they have never tried selling a franchise before. Would be so cool if they sold off DA, ip-rights, lore, lock stock and barrel, to Bethesda. (Yea, I know, all you who likes the story-driven approach to the exclusion of all else will be devastated. But still, isn't it the best thing that could happen to DA now?)

Dragon Age needs to stay where it is... in BioWare's hands. I do agree though that EA could keep their input and peer-pressure to themselves and also give BioWare some breathing room, when it comes to development time.

Forget an imperium, it's the Tevinterum!!!
Starts in Tevinter and moves on the Kal Sharok (to reestablish old alliances), then the front lines take us to the border of Orlais. A mage uprising has prompted the imperium to actions. Rumors tell of a new archon who has revived the old ways, teaching old forgotten magicks and reviving the worship of the Old Gods The Black Divine intends to destoy the heart of the Chantry in Orlais. Pick your side.

I could care less so long as they make it like DAO and not DA2. They've created such an amazing world that there aren't any wrong choices on the "where" question because each prospective location has a lot to offer that would make it interesting.
