There may be more cats than dogs, but animals don't play video games. Dog owners are actually a larger demographic than cat owners.
.

But by seeing all the lol cat pics on these forums and in the groups, cat owners gamers are clearly a larger demographic compared to dog-owner gamers, and BioWare has therefore forgotten about us cat lovers by not including cats in their games, except in reference to being eaten or to be given as gifts.

Only because dog owners like myself find it beneath ourselves to go around making fun of our dogs.

Why should Bioware cater now to feline lovers? What, do you need cats in the game to make you feel "speshul"?

If Bioware stops using dogs in the next game, I am going to write a strongly worded memorandum suggesting great disappointment and disapproval.

Hell, if they stop using dogs and start using cats, I'll have an entire army of wolves, coyotes, rottweilers, and pit-bulls at BioWare's headquarters. They don't call me a Canine master for nothing. ;)

Clearly, Anders was right in asking my mabari to be a "real pet."

Real pets should be able to sit on your head.

REAL pets that cannot kill for you, are worthless!!!

I know for a fact that my cats will never play DA2. I put this down to the under representation of kitty-kind. Some might say that it's not because of this, but because their little paws are incapable of operating a mouse and keyboard. This is just a poor excuse to make the developers feel justified in favouring dogs, who simply use their puppy-dog-eyes to have their owners operate the controls for them. No more feline discrimination, I say.

I look forward to the inevitable Ser Pounce-a-lot DLC.

The DLC for a New Kitty for Anders is the best suggestion to come out of this tread, by far. :D

Can I request rare vicious attack felines in remote elvhan ruins? It would make for more cat/dog equality.

I say we make a stand against BioWare and demand more cats in their games!

I want a cat named Ser Purrs-a-lot!

:P

The simple solution is a toggle. The toggle will fix everything.

I would love for Anders to have another kitty. My cat Samwise would be the prrrfecct model for it.

My point is that if Bioware continues this trend of catering to minorities like dog owners, what's to stop hamster lovers from demanding representation as well? Where does this end people! Will it take naked mole rats in your Bioware games to finally wake up!

You only have the Fereldan refugees living in Darktown to blame. They ate all the cats.

And yes, you just need a start-menu toggle. That would make so much more sense.

Hey, cat lovers got an overkill of cats in DAO. Don't you remember the 9 cat lineup in Denerim?

The hamster and fish-lovers are represented in Mass Effect, remember.

Rodent lovers have been represented as far back as Baldur's Gate.

After playing the DLC in Origins (The Stone Prisoner), the Chantry had to name all cats Malificars since they corrupt little girls.

I am sure Anders will blame the Templars......

What bugs me the most is that they shove dog themed content down my throat. There should be a toggle. Sure, it's optional but... still. The fact that dogs exist in the game at all is disgusting to me.

I can't even play DA2 in the presence of my cat without risking bodily harm, he's so touchy about it.

I support a Cat companion for Dragon Age 3 and Mass Effect 3 and any other project that bioware is working on atm!!!!! However I will not accept anything that is only partially a cat as that does not work out well in a bIoware game as the character Juhani from kotor proved. On another kotor note a cat can be a jedi companion as according to new star wars lore all a person or creature needs is some funky magical bacteria to be a jedi! Now that I've stated my support I leave this thread feeling tipsy and tired! Good night all :P

If they ever have shadowcats or tiger-like creatures as enemies in a DA game then they should let us have a cat companion that uses the same model (but a unique colour and maybe you can put warpaint on it.)

That would be cool...

Also the next game that has a party camp they should allow us to have a cat that stays at the camp

I'm all for a cats being in the game. And who says they can't guard you? My cat is half Egyptian Mau. He weighs 22 pounds and when he stands on his hind feet his front paws are on my waist. (I'm 5'8") When some FOOL broke into my apartment, my cat attacked him. Growled, clawed and bit. The would be robber ( or whatever ) fled. Then he called the police because my cat hurt him. No joke. There were 2 groups of police. One that answered his call, and one that answered mine. I thought the officers would never stop laughing.
I'm not anti-dog, but a war cat would be sweet!
