Thane is the only LI to get additional content in LotSB.

And it seems to be one that implies he isn't coming back :(

To be honest, I did sort of find ME1's options a little boring.

I meant it more in the lines of them delibrerattly (spelling?) giving the ME1 li's very small screen time, and put them in a very negative light during that screen time.

He doesn't even have any variables! Or he has so many that we can't possibly comprehend him! A new Jacob for every variable. A Jacob in every pot! Four more years of Jacob!

You have convinced me. I want to convert to the church of Infinite Jacob.

But there again, who said we're going to have a permanent squad in ME3 at all? BioWare always wanted to have a shooter...

With that attitude, why are you still here?

Go variable some variables instead of relentlessly persecuting common sense.

Maybe because the ME series is about Commander Shepard, the Reapers, TIM, the Shadow Broker, the Council, the Alliance, Aria, etc. Not about the freaking squadmates who should all be dead after the "suicide mission"! But this must seem to be beyond common sense from where you stand, right?

As petty as it sounds, what bothers me if all the ME2 LI's return is that it means the only reason the VS got such a ****ty cameo was because Bioware wanted us to hate them (and cheat on them if romanced). Makes me somewhat annoyed.

Actually, the VS was excluded to guarantee that (s)he'd be present in ME3, so we can assume that the VS will be quite integral to the plot.  Also, there were still several hints against cheating, such as the picture on Shep's desk, the apologetic email, and warnings from the devs themselves.

But see. That's what bothers me, if 6/10 of the ME2 cast were gonna return anyway, surely they could atleast make the VS (and Liara's, but that was fixed) scene better or give more slightly more screentime.

I think it's possible that they were actually not sure how many squadmates were coming back - they were sort of doing a test... see how many squadmates die on average, see how often squadmates get romanced. It's possible the less popular romance characters will just get cameo'd, so you can romance them but they won't be on your... hurk.... blarg... kkkukkkkukkk

A Jacob for all seasons! All's fair in love and Jacob! A Jacob saved is a Jacob earned. A watched Jacob never Jacobs! The only Jacob we have to Jacob is Jacob itself!

Dammit Cheeze and you call ME evil... :o

Correction.  The ME series is about Shepard and the Reapers.  Everything else is merely a backdrop.

And Shepard and the Reapers suck.

I'm really only into it for the characters.

Yeah. Basically one of the main reasons I romanced Garrus was so I could get more dialogue with him. Which is... actually something that has happend to me in real life.

Oh, really?  Well, that's certainly an interesting tidbit of personal information...

I romanced Garrus to get him to say something other than "calibrations" as well.  That and the romance-exclusive dialogue is some of the funniest stuff in ME2.  Seriously, who didn't crack up and/or facepalm when the Flux music came on?

This is pretty much the only reason I ever pick up any sort of Bioware game, anyway.

I could dispute that, but in any case the ME2 expendables are sooooooooooo far down the line...

What are you, a revolving door? That might explain your lack of common sense, but it sure does not explain how you are able to use the internet. Are doors sapient these days? Do you slam the keys and hope something comprehensible shows up on the screen?

I'm curious not only about which squadmates will return, but about how they will fit in to the early part of the game. Any member of the crew going to Earth with Shep, is risking getting arrested. It isn't just Shep, but the entire crew that is implicated in the events of Arrival (and ME2 generally). They are all Cerbeurs (well maybe not, but I doubt the Alliance is going to recognize the difference).Perhaps that alone allows for a "reset" of the squad. Shep has the crew (those still around, anyway) leave before he travels to Earth. Heck, Joker could even be a co-defendant! I like the idea of Ash/Kaidan being in attendance, as well. I also hope that we have a prologue squaddie that dies. It's a Mass Effect/Bioware tradition.

In Mass Effect 3, a giant Jacob will jump out of the ground and pull a Reaper down.

Jacob has always been the True Savior of Mankind.
