"Impact in the game"? You can't hurt a mosquito with such an "impact".Phaedon wrote...
Except that the Tali 'flag' that you are referring to did have an impact in the game, when you first met her. What else did you expect? For her to bring it up every time you talked? Yes, Bioware could have done that, but why?
And no, Tali never acknowledged the decision to deny her the Geth data.

So now we have gone from "variables are impossible" to "too much variables in Tali saves and other fanservice will make the rest of ME3 bad"?Zulu_DFA wrote...
Sure, BioWare is stupid enough (commercial considerations aside) to engage in such crappy fanservice as the Talimance at the expense of plot coherence, but it can go only so far on that avenue, as long as they want to keep each game standalone.
Well myself I doubt that BioWare are stupid considering that their games have been successfull. If anyone knows what makes a popular story and a cost effective development considering ME3 it's them. And they included Garrus and Kaidan, wich makes me suspect that it wasn't too much work needed.
You may think fanservice is crappy (except for when it's about your favourites perhaps) but that is what sells a product. Deal with it.

Ashley: Hello, I'm Ashley, we've never met before and I don't have a history. I just popped into existence a moment ago, please don't be curious about my past. I'll just show new players how awesome it is to have no past and they'll think thats great, and old players who remember me, well, they remembered it wrong. I never existed before now.
Garrus: Hello, I'm Garrus, I hate bureacratic crap, just like old times, let's kill Sidonis so I can get back to the calibrations.
I must have imagined that conversation with Tali where she said 'After helping you defeat Sarren and the Geth I returned to the Flotilla'...
Or Garrus talking about how after Shep 'Died' went back to the Citadel and tried out for Spectre training and C-Sec but in the end decided that he could make more of a difference elsewhere...
Yep, definately must have imagined that.

No. Pay attention.Well, check the ME2 Save Editor, you are wrong. There isn't a Kaidan/Ashley flag, there is a different flag for Kaidan and Ashley. You just crash the game if both are alive or dead. So yeah.

Well, here is your answer:
Saving the council is just one flag.
In short, if Bioware wanted to do so, Tali would have complained about Shepard not giving her the geth data. But they did not. It was possible, they just didn't want to do it.

You can't be spited, if the spiter spites something that never existed, such as the implication that the VS and Liara would be kept out of the ME3 squad because of the variables haunting the "suicide mission" participants. That also detracts from the valid element of spiting associated with the Garrus' purported comeback (the details of which aren't clear yet, BTW).GuardianAngel470 wrote...

That's irrelevant. Denying her the data has the same value as not finding the data at all, i.e zero. Giving her the data has the value 1.Zulu_DFA wrote...

Yes but you admitted that you were marginally spited and that, had they not included VS and Liara you would have been even more spited by the spiters of spiterton.

But BioWare didn't do that, Tali didn't acknowledge that my Shepard had been tepid towards her at best, and thus her trust put in him during her trial came across as bad writing. Taken at face value, it made Tali a moron.Phaedon wrote...

I think you have missed the point. But BioWare didn't do that
Yes, Bioware didn't do it. But they could have done it, if they wanted.
If you are questioning this, then you are also questioning the fact that variables do exist in an imported save.
And that is in response to what?
The fact that Bioware can, if they want to do so make characters return, easily?
There is therefore, no question as to whether they are capable of not, but if they want to do it, then?
Well, it's an interesting direction to the argument, at least you are not trying to convince us that somehow, the variables of all of the other squaddies are too complex!
As for the signature, thing, as I have said, all 3 of these characters have multiple variables associated to them. Having the VS return makes us much as sense as Wrex and Wreav returning, Liara returning makes as much sense as Grunt returning, and Garrus makes us much as sense as Miranda, for example returning.
